Garden Cottages Motel

It's a dump. Price is better than places in town but don't expect half of the things to work or to be treated well. When we arrived we were pushed HARD to pay cash and given complaints about using credit cards (even though I HAD to give my credit card info to make the initial reservation) but we were not told this in advance which left us in an unavoidable awkward situation because I don't just carry hundreds of dollars in cash on me. Not to mention I had to pay for the entire stay up front and told there were no refunds under any circumstances. There is zero wifi on the property, though it's advertised on the website as having it. There's simply a sign in the room that says they do not guarantee wifi service. We specifically booked the unit with a gas fireplace. It was broken (of course) but we were not informed of this when we made our reservations and when we said something about it were told, "well the owners are in Florida so there's nothing I can do...I mean I can't fix it. I've never seen that thing work and I been here for years" (I don't believe there's any owners in Florida. Just a clever excuse to avoid accountability for the state of the place). The tub was nice, or would have been if the hot water lasted long enough to fill it up before turning ice cold. The picture on the tv was strange and streched/warped in places and there were some cobwebs throughout the place. The exterior was in sad shape. The "owner" or whoever is clearly a hoarder and has old, broken machinery, appliances and building materials strewn all over the place as well as stray cats. The "front desk clerk" was in an office/lobby in a separate building that was locked and inaccessible to guests and calling often led to an answering machine. So getting fresh towels was so difficult we ended up reusing dirty ones. They did not leave enough toiletries for one person much less two (good thing I brought my own). The bed was the only decent part and they were using some sort of freshener to cover the obvious musty stench. I'll be coming back to area because I love Wellsboro, but I'll probably try somewhere decent next time.

Very outdated, musky. Dirty pots and pans. No water pressure in shower. Room rates per week are very cheap. I wouldn't stay here with my family.but I would if working in the area. Stoves and fridges in some rooms.

Cabin was perfect for our little family . Great price, very cozy...pet friendly!!! Highly recommend!

Everything was great.....woman was very nice and friendly. Rooms were very clean. I would stay and again and recommend to others.

I stayed there last year for a dickens Christmas and it was nice yes the room was a little out dated but at the time that I reserved the room there was only smoking permitted cottages available so I don't blame them for not updating rooms that people are going to smoke in. They were very polite and I'm planning on staying there again this year. They are very nice people and they are very accommodating. The price of the room is very good they aren't out to rip people off and over charge them. I would highly recommend this place. It's a little gem in wellsboro.
