Stay away from this place. Billings Hospital has a stabilization crisis unit with a real nurse 24/7. I was more scared when I left the house, which is runned by western Montana mental health than when I went in. I got admitted on a weekend, and they let me know I would be able to leave at any time I decided to leave... When I tried, they made it seem like I was not able to. When they did intake, I was told I would be able to get treated, see a provider, and have theraphy. When my symptoms got worst they told me I needed to wait for Monday to see a provider or a nurse, I had to call my doctor she sent meds to pharmacy and my husband dropped them off at WMMH. Before I got discharged I was able to meet with a physician she prescribed medication I was set up with a follow up appointment in 4 weeks, during that month I kept getting worst and worst every time I went in their office to let them know I was not doing any better I would receive the same answer "you need to give medication some time until it starts working" I got to the point where I could not get out of bed I was having panic attacks every day.. I had to have a full-time caregiver. On the day of my telehealth appointment, I noticed I didn't have a link to join. I tried calling them with no success, and my call would just go straight to voicemail. When I was able to talk to them, they didn't give me a reason why the provider never followed up with me. After that call, I was unable to talk to them they never responded to my calls. All this time, I wasn't aware that billings Hospital had a stabilization unit. When I was admitted there, they agreed that the medication I was put on was the one making me sicker. If you have the opportunity to go somewhere else, please do.. Don't compromise your health by going to this place.
If you're thinking of committing suicide, just do it! It's cheaper and faster than coming to the Hope House! The staff is unhelpful, refuse to give my prescription medication, and I still haven't seen anyone despite being visibly suicidal! Yipee!
If you're having trouble finding mental health treatment and you feel like a private office will provide better services than a non-profit community healthcare center, give these folks a shot and they'll surprise you. I started going here nearly six years ago while on medicaid. Since then I've been fortunate to have good insurance at times, but I've never felt a desire to switch to another provider. I like to support community healthcare, because sometimes they've been my only option. I'd like to think bringing them business even when I could afford to go elsewhere will let them continue to improve their services and financial stability. I'll admit, though, that since getting better insurance I've changed providers for some types of healthcare when, e.g., scheduling became a nightmare or constant staff turnover was hurting the quality of care. A few years back I believe this branch of WMMHC then Gallatin Mental Health Center had funding and staffing challenges. Even during those challenges, I always received affordable and excellent care here. There must be talented, resilient, and committed people keeping this place going, and I hope the community keeps supporting them. So even if you're not limited in your choices like I was when I first came here, I very much recommend giving WMMHC a chance. Of course, if you are limited by insurance and you're just wondering if it's worth it to seek out some outpatient care, then it's a no-brainer. Make the time and meet with these folks, your life can be better and you're worth it. ------------------------------- The rest of this is just appreciative notes about the staff I've met. I'm not sure whether it will interest people looking for treatment, but hopefully the board/management sees it: My doctor here, Marnie Basta-Smith, is excellent, thoughtful, and easy going. She's always made my care easy, made me feel comfortable, given great advice, and given me choices when it's appropriate. I really appreciate that Marnie discusses choices with me because I feel like I have some control and ownership over my own health. I've met with Myrna a few times as well, when Marnie wasn't available for some immediate need or when I stupidly missed my appointment. Myrna was also very kind and professional, and I'm so glad she was there to fill in gaps so that I've never lacked help when I needed it. Lastly, I've got to call out Zach, who's been answering the main phone recently. Zach has helped me with a couple scheduling snafus and bureaucratic headaches my own issues, not anything that WMMHC caused, and every time I was just amazed by his knowledge, quick action, and genuine warmth. I've answered phones in a place where people regularly call at their rock bottom and everything needs to happen yesterday. People call screaming, crying, despondent, disrespectful, and ready to blame you for all of the world's problems. Not many people can take call after call like that, probably with dozens of tasks piling up, and still find the patience to make every caller feel heard and important. Even the easy calls feel tedious if you're emotionally drained. But Zach has always been enthusiastic and helped me out immediately, and that's badass. Marnie, Myrna and everyone I've interacted with at WMMHC is great, so don't let my raving about one guy overshadow their excellence. Reception work is just too often seen as a minor role instead of the difficult and crucial job that it is, so it's especially important to give credit to someone giving that job 110%. I hope WMMHC will always prioritize finding/keeping great folks like Zach for the phones. Thank you and kudos to the entire WMMHC team, no amount of appreciation is enough for your hard work and positive impact.
Montana has a history of not having that great a mental health out reach program. This place is a testament to this. This place is a complete joke. I was 5150 over here. The head 'Psychologist' told me MULTIPLE TIMES I would be released tomorrow. Tomorrow rolls around. Ok, tomorrow we'll get you out. Next day. Ok, tomorrow is the day. After being lied to OVER AND OVER AGAIN I find out 5150 is an involuntary commitment to a mental health program for 72 hours... I finally get out after being as stated before MULTIPLE TIMES!!! Hope house? False hope house.
Extremely expensive for people who don't seem to care, I had almost a $1000 bill for 4 sessions and less then 2 1/2 hours of counseling, that tried sending to collections, Like that will help me when I'm crisis. On top of that they kept telling me they couldn't fill my script if I didn't make another appointment, they We're very pushy about it I had to tell them I was gonna go somewhere else.on top of that can't get a hold of anyone always have to leave a voicemail and wait be called back, they dying
I would not recommend Dr. Maidman to anyone. I am shocked at how flippantly he handled my daughter's care. She never did feel like he was listening to her. As she was transitioning to being 18 and more independent, she couldn't get a response back, her therapist couldn't get an answer to discuss concerns, and neither could the pharmacy for refills. She was dropped with no warning or information given for her to find a new provider. He left her hanging with no way to get her antidepressants or anxiety meds filled. These are not things that you just abruptly stop. I am disgusted that a medical professional would be so careless.
Usually service is wonderful people are very kind. My doctor is amazing there. Whoever is running the phones as of 10/29/2020 is terrible. Very rude. Told me that she doesn’t work there she works for a call center even though this is the only number that I can reach them through. I keep getting forwarded to voicemails. I missed one call because I was tending to my daughter and no one even left a message! If it actually is a call center. I’m just suggesting that they communicate with each other, because every time this lady has picked up the phone today she’s been super rude. Obviously she has caller id because her attitude is ridiculous every time she answers the phone. All that I’m trying to do is get my appointment straight and try to get my medication. But to her I’m just irritating and an inconvenience. It’s almost five pm and I still don’t have two simple tasks accomplished. Thanks Gallatin Mental Health!
This facility seems to be closed, without any warning to it's clients. My family has been trying to get ahold of someone to get a medication refill for several weeks and no one has called us back. Bad form
The Hope House called the police on me when I decided I didn’t need their services. I get they were “concerned” for my safety but come on. I was terrified. There’s no way I get support if I’m feeling angry and unsafe. I had to talk my way to the door and get my phone back before I was able to get out. I literally ran through a field and hid in a parking lot. Police showed up at my house then called me when I wasn’t there. Not cool. 1/5 would not recommend unless you’re enthusiatic about police.
I called the Mental Health Center today, because I had some questions and concerns about a friend. The woman I spoke to could not have been kinder and more informative. She was amazing and helped me understand my options. We have a tremendous resource here in Bozeman and with all that's going on in the world, personal issues can become overwhelming. I encourage everyone to utilize this help if things get to be too much.
