It was nice to see a Fort built so long ago that is still standing today. Unfortunately the fort is not accessible to the public to enter. The fort is located in the middle of the oldest golf course in Canada which was opened in 1875. There is a path you can walk to access the fort

Old fort with some historical value but, not really worth it. Can't go in and lots of rubish around the out skirts of the site on the banks and in the tunnels. I would not recommend bothering given all the other stuff in town. Only redeeming feature is the view of the lake but, you can get similar views from just down the road.

Besieged by elderly angry white male golfers, this important hisorical landmark languishes on the lake. Brick-lined magazines imbedded in the berm make excellent spots for drunken youthful revelry and the occasional human sacrifice.

Boring. Nothing there. Not sure if the government is interested in maaintaining it.

A wonderful hidden gem. I enjoyed the simple quiet nature of the structure. No tours and no fuss. Leaving it to you to discover and imagine history. A bit sad it is surrounded by a golf course though. We were there on New Year's Day so no golfers to worry about.
