Great little place on a lake! Stopped here for lunch on our way north and had the perfect window seat and service. The walleye platter & wild rice veggie burger were awesome! We'll definitely come back sometime.
My husband and I went to Forest Lake for breakfast to kick off break. We both ordered biscuits and gravy with hash browns. The biscuits came out and they were luke warm. I don't like sending things back so I kept eating. I kept eating until I took a bite and it was ice cold. I finally sent it back and the waitress just put it in the microwave.. which is fine and it was good. My husband started eating his and his was cold too. At that point we didn't want to complain anymore so he just ate it. Once I started eating my hash browns I found out that they only cooked the top and the rest was uncooked and cold. I tried to add ketchup to it but there was no helping it. I didn't even send it back at that point. I was just over it all. The waitress ended up taking her hash browns off of the order which was great. But overall it was just a bad food experience and I don't think we will be going back. The past few times we went there to eat we were not pleased. We were so disappointed because we never treat ourselves and go out to eat it. We did tip our waitress good because she did everything she could and it wasn't her fault. This was not worth the money.
Thoroughly enjoyed the burger and a few cold beers, very friendly atmosphere. Tiffany our barperson was great, couldn't ask for better service knew the menu, very knowledgeable about the food and drinks gave us recommendations and kept us topped up with beers great Swiss and mushroom burger and the mozzarella sticks were gooey and crispy awesome
The KC Beef Brisket Sandwich might be the best brisket I've ever eaten. The first time I tried it was back in June and it was so frickin' good that I'd been waiting to go back for months to get it again we're not from the area. Their unique and delicious bbq sauce, with the pickles on top, pushed the flavour to another level. I talked it up so much that everyone I was dining with ordered it too. They all loved it!
Forest Lake Restaurant in Grand Rapids, Minnesota is an old school restaurant. Food was just ok. I think it would be better to order what they recommend, such as the ribs. Atomosphere is a bit dark and dated but that lends to the old-time atomosphere.Food: 3/5
We had a lovely lunch after church. Our server Brook was very sweet & helpful. Our daughter loved that chocolate milk & ice cream is included with her kids meal. LoLFood: 5/5
This Fine Dinning is a absolute treat for your taking.. I would recommend the choice of reservations for supper time if your not willing to wait to be seated. Worth it! There is also a "Bar and Grill" in addition to the fancy dinning separate area's. The menue is appropriately priced and the waiting staff more than qualified to surve. Enjoy the total wood experience floor to ceiling and the nice lake side view and relax!! Enjoy..
Eight of us came in for breakfast on our way to a week long fishing trip. It took 15 minutes to get seated when it wasn't busy. Three of us got sick from the food. The only people that liked their food were the kids that got french toast, and one person that got the eggs benedict. I got the corn beef hash. I found out later it came from a can, and it was horrible. They also burn my hash. It was inedible. I would not try this ever again.
We have stopped by here multiple times and have had really good service each time. We have had breakfast, lunch and dinner and have received good food each time. We really enjoy the person service from the waitresses and bartenders. They have a very comfortable atmosphere with friendly local patrons. Very reasonable prices and a very good selection on the menu. We enjoy the comfort of the seating and being able to overlook the lake while dining.
Food is good to excellent. The menu is well rounded and the price is fair to high. Wait staff is stellar and the atmosphere great and the view of the lake is nice. A great place to take guests if you're looking for an upscale place without exorbitant prices. Kid-friendliness: Not great for little kids but bigger kids with manners will love it!
