Cedar Creek Grille

About

Cedar Creek Grille, nestled just 11 miles north of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, is a southern style restaurant that serves from ribs to hand cut steaks

Story

One beautiful sunny day Dave Almquist drove by and thought to himself what a great place to have my daughter's wedding here. So shortly after Dave became the proud owner of this building and he and his sons remodeled it from a building with just an open floor and no windows to a western theme restaurant and named it the Cedar Creek Grille. We opened July 19, 2014

Great food again. It's not your typical Americana. The food is next level from your standard grill. Fries are crunch with a well done center seasoning is just enough to flavor but not overpower. And the cuts of meat are just a bit better than most places. And the atmosphere is very nice. Dinner menu is even better.Food: 5/5
My first time there we went with 2 other couples. Curious about the place I read reviews on our drive there. I commented to my wife nearly all said the food was good, the negative comments were mainly the time it took to get waited on. And I couldn't agree more. From the time we were seated till someone took our order was about 40 minutes. It was a week night, not very busy, so I don't know why it took so long. They very well might have things on the menu that are good, but the jumbo shrimp dinner isn't one of them. Not only were they not jumbo, I would not call them large, medium at best, each were one bite. Served in a very bland sauce with no hint of garlic. Honestly, not very good. But they were better than the rest of the plate, which was wild rice and veggies, both of which might of been good if served warm. Rice was cold, veggies luke warm. My wife had the same order and hers were same temperature. Obviously the cook didn't time all our orders well, and they sat for awhile before brought out to us. The best part of the meal was the French Onion soup, which was good, not great. I most likely would not have commented about our poor experience if the prices were reflective of the food. But they have fine dinning prices without the food to match. I know we won't be going back. I did point out to my wife that not one of the negative reviews posted was responded to by the owner. That is unheard of. Even large conglomerates at some level of management spark a reply like "I'm sorry you had a bad experience, blah blah". Makes me wonder if the owner cares
Great food, very generous portions, and pretty good service. We had no plans to stop here, but due to less than ideal snowmobile trail conditions to the northwest this weekend and some equipment issues, we ended up riding back past here just after lunch time, and are glad we decided to stop. Our server was super friendly, but for how slow it was at 2pm on a Saturday, she could have been just a bit more attentive.
It needs some work, the chairs and table are way different heights so you feel you need a booster seat to make it up enough to eat the food off you plate. Staff was really good! The cheese sauce isn't homemade inside joke Overall, I give it a 7 out of 10. The seating was my main issue. I love the decor and atmosphere 100%! Hand #breaded cauliflower is the best!!
Fun, comfortable atmosphere. Staff is very friendly, upbeat and inter-act with guests. Food is excellent and you have plenty for taking home.Food: 5/5
Great service, the waitress was very courteous and friendly. Very thoughtful and efficient . Excellent Ribs were so tender that they melted in your mouth . Ribeye was grilled perfectly at medium and was very good, I didn't even want A1 sauce after the first bite. Yummy!! Definitely going back!!!! Vegetarian options: Veggies were delicious, salad was very tasty. Parking: There are plenty of upfront spots Wheelchair accessibility: Doors are nice and wide, dining area is very open.
The cook on the mussels, if you dare to put them on the menu, in a remote area, are the measure of a restaurant. They were top notch, a few more herbs, and some spicy kielbasa, but right up there with the best I’ve had. And we are in the middle of the continent. Great service, delicious food. Stop in.
Very impressed. Owners Dave and Susan friendly. Food great. Best quesadilla I've ever had. And I've had a bunch. Only negative was signage. Drove by and had to come back.
They have REALLY good food , service can be slowish sometimes , or they are mildly understaffed … either way if you can be patient the food is worth it 90% of the time .
Beautiful place and friendly waitstaff. The food is always AMAZING! I’m pretty stuck on the Southwest Chicken Wrap that they recommended the first time I visited. Absolutely love it and I’m not even a wrap person anywhere else. Had their homemade coleslaw for the first time yesterday. WOW! The absolute best I’ve ever had. Not your typical coleslaw - 10 x better! Husband loves the brisket melt and burgers. Prime rib amazing too! You won’t be disappointed - but please show them your grace as they get busy and like everyone else sometimes short on staff.
