This place has really went down hill & they had no waitstaff to seat you or even to take your order. You have to order only by keisk. You can only pay w debit, credit card or gift certificate because there's NO ONE To cash you out only the machines to do it yourself. The bathrooms were NASTY & the price of the burgers were crazy priced for the tiny bit we got. Paying over 10.00 for an onion burger w onion rings to only get 5 small onion rings & a bun soaked in grease. The cheese fries were cold & only half somewhat done the other half soggy raw. When we got there, we had no idea you seat yourself, pick up your food yourself & order food at a kiosk not even a welcome from the couple of staff that was there. Had to wait forever to get someone to give us our ranch that you pay for but they forgot to give us. It's like a ghost restaurant with no one to help you or ask any questions to. Better off eating somewhere else that you at least get greeted.
1st time back since Covid. Portobello hamburg and caffeine free diet coke not on the menu anymore. No one greeted us. Ordering is now on a kiosk, which actually works well. The food was great. No one said thanks for coming as we left. Very impersonal. A couple words would have gone a long way.Food: 5/5
So disappointed in the changes. You have to order on a kiosk now. There's no one to ask if you have questions. They call your name when your order is ready, set the food down, and walk away. Also, there are no more special flavors for the Coke. The whole atmosphere is just sad compared to what it used to be. It's probably my last time coming here.
My friend and I stopped by for shakes, and they were fantastic! You order from a touch screen and pay right there, so there really was no customer service, other than some unseen person who made the shakes. There was also a noxious bathroom odor permeating the dining room, so we asked for to-go cups and left.
I've been going to the alpine location in Comstock Park, MI for a little over a year... Food is usually on point, fresh and delicious. My last visit the food was still good, but my order took 20 minutes for seem reason... I would defintly go there again..Food: 5/5
The food is not as it was before the pandemic. There is no longer service. You have to order your food at a kiosk. Finally, the atmosphere is like being a library.Food: 3/5
Came here to pickup some food on the way home and had horrible service even though I used just the drive through. The drive through sensors were broken so they put a giant sign on the menu/intercom covering the majority of the menu stating that and to order at the window so you couldn't see anything while waiting. With orders being done at the window and waiting, this increased the wait time a lot when they probably should've just had everyone pull forward and brought the meals out to the cars like most other restaurants do. This also would allow them to prepare more than just one meal at a time. I'm not trying to judge the staff because they were probably tired of the situation as well because they did not come off that nice or friendly. The burgers were extra greasy and the onions on them were definitely old along with the fries being almost soggy yet undercooked. Could all just be a bad night for them but I was hoping the milkshake would make up for it but even that seemed more frozen and didn't taste right either. Maybe another time would be better but it was not worth the money and I was disappointed with this particular trip there.
Second time coming in a long time has gotten worse and the food wasn't all that great and I had to return the food because it wasn't made the way I act and then the guy just rewarmed it up and then reserved it out and then I ended up tossing it but the guy was very pleasant and cordialFood: 1/5
Hey, man... it's Steak 'n Shake. Burgers, shakes, the works. Hadn't been by in a while, so the self serve kiosks were new to me, but I liked them. Overall, great experience.Food: 5/5
The portions are much smaller than I remember. The floor waa very dirty and sticky in the dining room area. The title floor also had some titles missing in the dining room floor.Food: 3/5
