This place has the most interesting cocktails I’ve seen on a menu. I wanted one of everything. The place is small and intimate which, I love. Ambiance is great. It is hard to get in at peak times due to this…but keep trying because it’s great. The food looked interesting, but didn’t get to try so we’ll have to comeback.
Great staff, try going during late week day to avoid waiting to enter. Nice cozy ambience, retro restroom. Cocktails are delicious, high quality!!! I tried most of the cocktails from the shaken and sour list and Midnight Mass was excellent. I'm totally going back to try more.
Almost missed the door which is usually a sign of a good speakeasy. Cocktails were inventive, delicious and well worth the price. A little loud for the vibe despite being a small, intimate venue but not a deal breaker. Was able to get in without a wait on a Thursday, but I bet it's a pain on a weekend. Highly recommend if you can get in!
This bar has a fun middle eastern theme. We ordered two drinks. Our favorite was made with mango, tequila, toasted coconut and toasted rice milk. The bartender treated us to a bonus Singapore Sling. The space is small, and there’s usually a line to get in. Given this, I appreciated that the staff makes an effort to have guests scoot down at the bar to make room for new parties. The alternative would be empty seats, and I don’t think any space should go to waste at this bar!
TLDR: Amazing speakeasy with insane wait times on weekends. We stopped by Foreign National on a Saturday evening around 7:30 PM and there was a huge line of people waiting to get in there. We thought the line may get better later so went else where for dinner and came back again at 9:30 PM to see the line was pretty long on a cold night. This time we decided to hang around and were hopeful the line would move relatively quicker - but NO we were wrong. We got into the bar at 11:10 PM and were honestly not happy about the wait time. Once you walk in, the place is tiny with cozy tables. The place was loud and noisy to have conversations with your friends. We wasted no time and ordered our drinks in fact we placed 2 rounds at once cos they were taking their last order at 11:30PM. We ordered the following drinks: Foreign National Cocktail: Crisp refreshing and floral notes. This was a delicious Quebranta based cocktail. Was a crowd favorite. Ambrosia: Delicious rum based cocktail with mild flavors of cardamom, raspberry and balsamic. Another crowd fav. Singapore Sling: Juicy boozy gin based fruity cocktail. Great if in the mood for a fruity cocktail. Refreshing. Silk Road: Coconut milk and rum based mildly spiced deliciously creamy cocktail. Knoble Steed: Rye Bourbon based cocktail tasked similar to a Manhattan. It was still good though. This place is best for a group of only 2 or 4 maybe. They have only 1 big table that can accommodate a group of 6 so good luck getting that for your group. While we loved all our cocktails, the only reason I take a star off their rating is cos of the insane wait times. They do not take reservations and also do not take down names when you show up. So all you got to do is wait in line for some one some time to open the door for you to be seated. Nobody keeps you posted about the approx wait times. It could be 10 mins, 2 hrs or none. You never know. Maybe start reservations with a $25 deposit amount I dont know but do something to make it enticing for us to come back. Enjoyed the cocktails here but will come back on a weekday to skip the crazy lines or when they figure out their reservation system.
The ambiance is amazing! The barely visible door and very limited tables will get anyone curious. I had Osaka #1 and it was good! I was more impressed by the potato wedges. I’m baffled by how they cooked it, but it tasted delicious! But the potato dip ratio was off too much dip, not enough potatoes.
I did not partake in the food, but the drinks were great. A cozy spot with a good vibe. It fills up quickly so you have to wait outside for a spot to open. The wait is worth it.
My favorite bar in capitol hill! Really cozy, romantic vibe and the most flavorful drinks in Seattle. I couldn't have alcohol that day, but I still had the option of 4 equally delicious non alcoholic drinks mixed at the bar. The snacks are really good as well, strong flavors. It's a very small space, without reservations, but worth trying.
The drinks and finger foods are tasty. A cute little bar hidden bar. Not so easy to find a packing on the streets. Also, not so easy to find the entry of the bar neither. =P. The door is next to the Vietnamese restaurant
This is a really cool, intimate craft cocktail spot in capitol hill. The bar has a smaller seating area, you're likely to run into a wait if you're visiting on anything but the slowest nights, but the wait is worth it. Cocktail variety and execution is excellent. Also a great pre or post drink spot if you're visiting stateside next door.
