Fantastic food, great vibe, and exceptional service - that is Five Doors North. We've been going here for years, and the quality of their food just seems to be getting better and better. Highly recommend their Risotto and Lamb Chops, and if you like it spicy, ask them for their homemade chilli oil.
Very trendy place. The menus are hard to read though. Came here for summerlicious with two friends with reservations. Upon arriving, I was seated 10 minutes later EVEN with reservations and there being plenty of available seating. Once I was seated, however, the service was great. We were constantly attended to by a friendly server and he was always helping out and giving suggestions. I ordered the mussels, ribs, and chocolate cake. The mussels were fantastic, but the ribs tasted a bit burnt and weren't quite as "fall-off-the-bone" tender as I would have liked. The chocolate was overly rich for my tastes, but that's my fault since I should have known given I don't have a sweet tooth. Portion sizes seem to vary wildly. My friend got the steak, but his portions were maybe 30% smaller compared to the portions that another guest received at another table. My portion of ribs was smaller than my other friends portion, but not to the same degree. I would come back here again, but I would change up my order. It's a cool place with nice ambiance.
I came to this place based on the very good reviews. I sat in patio. The service was good, the food was okay. However, our expectations was much higher based on looking at the website and the reviews. I’m in love with Italian foods, the food was good but nothing special. I actually liked the style of serving the foods, they serve your pasta in a metal plate which was very cool. Its a local restaurant. There is nothing fancy abt this place.
Excellent service. A bit noisy because it’s popular with many people. The baby rib is great! Almost the best rib compared to what we had in other restaurants.
Just had time for an quick appetizer: Baked Polenta; and a Negroni. Both very good. I would definitely come back to try more items on the menu. Service very friendly as well. A bit pricey, though.
Surprisingly good! It's not that fancy but you can really find authentic Italian food here. Focaccia tastes just like the one we had in Italy, and the beet salad/steak is top notch as well. Dessert is just so-so. Will definitely revisit.
The Italian restaurants around the area tend to be hit or miss, depending on if they cater to families or go for high quality, I have found Five Doors North to be a great in-between. The atmosphere is very relaxed and open, with gentle lighting and casual seating. The food was very good, and the prices were very reasonable. Service was somewhat slow but that was okay as there was a large group in our area and the staff were very friendly. The bathrooms however were very small. Overall I was very happy and I will certainly be back in the future.
Great place. Cozy place with delicious food. James our server was very friendly and his recommendations were great. Loved the good and the service.
Very good meal. The waiters were nice. The food was good. I had the lamb. Cooked as I wanted and doused in sauce. The drinks were good too. The place has a bit of echoes especially near the back of the dinning room. There is a nice selection of alcohol at the bar.
Best Risotto w/mushroom & truffle oil a must try, the Birrata cheese was also amazing! T service was really amazing as well...such a great experience. Totally recommended!
