Friendly staff and a good variety of options. I went to try the Not Cod with deep fried pickles and my husband got the halibut with fries. Very tasty. We were seated pretty quickly and food came reasonably quick. Would definitely go again.
Quaint little restaurant with a nautical theme. Incredible gluten free options, made my heart so happy to have onion rings again after years of not having them! Menu was labelled clearly, which is fantastic. Makes for a smooth dining experience for a socially anxious celiac. Portions were good, definitely worth the price. Super crispy and greasy, just what I want in my fish and chips. Fun little knot tying chart and a rope on the table, my boyfriend and I had fun attempting to make some knots while we waited. Staff was friendly, made sure to check on us. Overall, wonderful experience and would come back any time i’m in Sidney
If you are ever in Sidney, Fish on Fifth is a great place for fish & chips. The batter was not heavy and you can taste the fish - I had the 2-pc haddock and although I thought I was hungry, I could barely eat the second piece. Also try the adult shakes - I had a vanilla Malibu shake - very delicious and dairy free! Service is over the moon - definitely a repeat!
Decent for Vancouver standards. Visiting Victoria and on our way we went to try the fish and chips here. The claim chowder was Luke warm and almost felt like it was microwaved. The cod was actually really juicy and good, the fries were seasoned well. Staff are accommodating and friendly. Would recommend the fish and chips if you are in the area.
So the food here is INCREDIBLE. Staff are lovely. The outdoor patio is nice. I used to live in Victoria and loved it here, and it's my go-to when I come back. Their plant-based menu is worth the trip.
We stopped in Sydney after getting off the ferry on our way to Victoria…what a wonderful food experience we had at this Fish on Fifth restaurant…such a warm welcome and a cozy atmosphere…our fish and chips was exactly what we wanted and this quality food experience met all our expectations …we will definitely return to choose further menu items on our next visit…
I understand the need for inflation but pricing a simple Halibut Burger on its own to a whopping $29.95 that used $13.95 is just plain insane and horrific inflation. That price alone is enough for me to never eat here again. I just recently ate a lobster and shrimp roll w/fries & side salad for $25.95 at a local pub. Come on, be sensible with your inflation…. After seeing the price @29.95 for a burger on its own, I left without eating and won’t be back.
As usual, Fish on Fifth doesn't disappoint Friendly staff, friendly to dogs and the most delicious food. We added fried prawns and chowder to our fish and chips and both were well prepared.
Ordered the gluten free haddock and yam fries, absolutely delicious! Their food is safe for celiacs, besides certain appetizers like the clam strips and calamari. Service was great! They were a bit busy when me and my boyfriend were there and accidentally gave me iced tea instead of Pepsi - but it was no biggie! The quality of the food definitely makes up for it.
Super friendly staff. Had a fun conversation with them while they were serving us. Good people for sure. Had calamari for appy - it was good. I've had better by far. Fish and chips were good. Not the biggest portion. Enjoyable but not wow'd. Finally, deep fried Mars bar. Very interesting. Very sweet. Happy to have finally tried it as I heard about it years ago. Would i get it again? Not sure. Probably depends on how much beer I've had. 3 stars for food but the great staff brought this review up to 4.
