While walking and exploring downtown looking for a spot to watch NFL football KC Chiefs.. I found First Draft! Great bar with the best drinks and food menu. The servers where top notch and I got to meet Chevy the owner. He was mixing it up with the customers, talking and taking photos with them... Till next time - cheers!!Food: 5/5
First time visit to Chicago, from the Boston area. Stopped in before the Bears, Thursday night game, and naturally, the place was very busy. Service was reasonable, despite what appeared to be only one waitress covering the place. Burger, wings, and beer, were all good, but the standout, was the sweet potato fries….light, airy, crispy, and seasoned perfectly. If you are a SPF fan, this place does them incredibly well… maybe the best I’ve ever had.
Classic pub with extensive beer selection and bar, but it’s the food that will leave the best impression. Unbelievable quality and ingredients in the otherwise standard menu: cheese pizza bread that uses house-made marinara sauce and absolutely obliterated my taste buds in a good way! Vegan Hero was one of the most inventive sandwiches mushrooms and plantains I’ve ever enjoyed. We were pleasantly surprised!
Not as good as the reviews. My ribs were decent. Brussels a bit too burned, though edible. Generous amount of over salted sweet potato fries. Nice waitress. Good beer. Too many TVs. A bit loud. Quick service. Cost $50, more or less, including tip. $7 per beer. My fault for buying two!Dine in: Yes
This Gem was not even on my list but I am so glad we came across it. This was one of only two 5-Star restaurants for me on my trip. The selections of beer are top notch and can't wait to go back to try more. Most importantly the food was amazing. I pretzel bites were perfect texture, temperature and had great dipping sauces. A pimento cheese and sweet mustard. The pulled pork sandwich was great as well as the red velvet pie we had for dessert. But the best think by was was the sweet potato fries. I love sweet potato fries and have had them in different states and on different continents and these are my new favorite. This place I would highly recommend and will return to when I make it back to Chicago. Thanks First Draft.!!!
Highly recommended! Great choice of micro brews with 60 beers on tap. You will find something you like there for sure. Food was delicious. Ordered the chicago beef sandwich and enjoyed every last crumble of it. Looked so good when it arrived I didnt even think about taking a picture. Lastly, service was stellar. Liza took care of us and she was all you can ask for in a waitress. Friendly, lovely, courteous, hard working and passionate about her job. Hats off to you Liza, you made our experience at First Draft that much better!
The burgers here were incredible, with top notch drinks and services. Came here instead of Taste of Chicago, and it was so worth it!
Our first time in but we will be back when in the area. Reuben sandwich was awesome and so were our sides house chips, brussel sprouts. Great draft beer selection. Could be a bit loud so be prepared for that but great place to hang out.Food: 4/5
Absolutely delicious bar food. Best sweet potato fries I've had, cooked to crispy perfection - is that peanut oil? Either way, wonderful. Hubby is a Chicagoland native and approves of the Italian beef, said it was delicious, though served differently than he is used to. The pulled pork sandwich is a very nice combination of flavors and one of the very best I've ever had. Portions are very generous. Bar atmosphere and plenty of TVs to keep up on whatever game you're following. It's noisy. It's a bar, so I'm cool with that.
Love coming here. The atmosphere is super chill, great place to catch a game or come before or after a sporting event or concert too. The food is amazing drinks too, I’ve never been disappointed. Sam and Ethan are also great. Definitely recommend.
