Famous Dosa Indian Cuisine

I needed a dosa fix on a Friday night with the Missus. We decided to give Famous Dosa a try after driving by many times. With the exception of one other table, the restaurant was empty at 7:00 PM. We found the Chicken 65 to be very salty and some pieces over fried. The filling in our vegetable dosa was very bland as if it was missing some spices. The taste of the Chicken Biryani was fine but it was spicy hot when we had ordered medium. Even though the restaurant was nearly empty, service was lacking as we had to call the waitress to order and also for our bill. There was no checking up on us during our meal. We have tried many other dosa restaurants along the Kingsway strip and will most likely patronize those over Famous Dosa.

Good south Indian hotel, of course they serve north Indian varieties too, easy to locate, ample parking space. Visited this restaurant, wow it was neat n clean. Loved the ambience I would say Chef Kishore’s Biriyani with their delicious gravy is a must must must try !!! Feel free to ask for extra gravy though Had ordered ghee masala dosa, set dosa chicken curry, thalapakatti goat biriyani, chicken pakora though it took a little bit of time but it was worth the delay fresh food takes time to reach our table and looked were freshly prepared. Their ginger tea was excellent. There are multiple combos of breakfast, lunch and dinner. Staff were super friendly. And budget friendly too!! Not many parking spots, but you can find one I guess. I had the pleasure of dining at "Famous Dosa," and it was an absolute delight! The buffet offered a fantastic selection, and the staff's hospitality was top-notch. The ambience was excellent, creating the perfect atmosphere for a great meal. The portions were generous, and the slices were delicious. However, the true stars of the show were the fish and chicken wings – they were absolutely amazing, and I can't recommend them enough. Another Indian place, food was tastier, yet not a quality focused meal, we liked the chicken gravy, chicken 65 was not that authentic. Around that place there are many other Indian restaurants open late night, this is one of them, yet as I said earlier the food is not quality enough. Atmosphere of the restaurant is ok.Food: 2/5

Finally found a typical nice south Indian restaurant after a long time. The malabar paratha and chicken curry combo is the best. Definitely will come back to try out more options. Awesome south Indian buffet. Very warm and friendly service and Chef kishore is always my daughter's favorite. Wishing you all Sucess.

Recently, I ordered Thalappakatti Biryani from here and I have to say I was blown away. The flavors were amazing!!!!! The variety of options is definitely a plus and customer service was impeccable!! Their Thalappakatti Biryani offers an authentic and rich experience, took me back to my childhood days Would 100% recommend this place if you wanna enjoy true Indian flavours!!!!

We have been here once before about 6 months ago and thought it was a good place for dosas. Today's experience proved otherwise. Other than biryani, the rest of the food was deplorable. In fact, the picture attached to this review is supposedly "eggplant dosa" - it was just the regular potato filling with exactly 3 pieces of eggplant! The same goes for lamb dosa- 3 pieces of lamb in a blob of potato. I don't even want to get started on the service but it suffices to say there is none. The decor is tacky and they play inappropriate videos- there are families with kids dining here. Avoid this place.

I’d absolutely recommend them if you’re looking to have food that you’d consider authentic and closest to that of food back in South India! Hands down my fav restaurant!! I’d really recommend their Parotta and Mutton Chukka, Dosais and their delicious thalapakatti biriyani!Food: 5/5

I recently dined at this restaurant, and it was an incredible experience. The food was truly authentic, especially the South Indian dishes – a must-try for anyone craving genuine flavors. The staff were exceptionally friendly, making the overall dining experience delightful. I highly recommend it for a taste of authentic South Indian cuisine and warm hospitality. When my friends surprised me with a cake for my birthday they played birthday songs without even telling them. It was so nice of them.

Ordered Chicken dum biriyani, Ghee roast chicken biriyani and Gopi 65 for delivery. Everything tasted delicious. Biriyani was spicy for me, but tasted really good.
