I think my terrible experience here boils down to a terrible front office staff. The doctors and nurses have all been nice. My prescription was sent to my old pharmacy from seven years ago. When I called them to ask if they could correct this they said it would be 24 to 48 hours. I work ten hour days and can't pick up scripts on these other days so the daily medication that I'm required to take, I would not be abe to get for possibly 3 days. I explained this to the front office receptionist over the phone and she stated that she would tell the nurse and under her breathe said that I was "freaking out". I blew this off and did not respond. Assuming the medical staff would get the message and send the script in I waited 4 hours before going in to my pharmacy to get my prescription. It had not been sent in when I got there. With any of my previous doctors I could call them from the pharmacy and they could just send over the script. So I called from the pharmacy to ask and I got another front office staff. I had to explain this entire situation over again from the beginning. She stated that she would have the doctor review it and saw that they had made the mistake of sending the script to the wrong pharmacy and apologized. She said they would call me when they send the script to the right place. So worried that I would not get my medication in time I went home hoping they would call me back with news they had sent in my script. I get home and the nurse had called and left a message during my car ride home asking which pharmacy to send the prescription to and requested that I call her back. Face palm! but yay all I need to do is call and they will do it. I call the office and get an immediate flippant and rude front office person who asks me in ad nausium the details of my problem. I asked her to let me speak to the nurse who was expecting my call back. She then states that the nurse had sent my medication in to the old pharmacy in July and that it was ready for me to pick up. I yet again had to explain that I needed it sent to my new pharmacy which by the way has already filled for me by this practice every other time I've needed medication. I told this lady again, that the nurse needed me to return her call to confirm my new pharmacy. The front office person hangs up on me! Enraged, I had to drive to the actual office and talk to the front office staff yet again. When I explain the lack of understanding happening on their behalf the front office girl tells me that the nurse is going to send it to my correct pharmacy. I think, great, it is finally going to get done. So just to make sure I ask her to remove the info for my old pharmacy from their system so the mistake doesn't happen again and the girl asks me to wait because she has to go in the back and speak to the nurse. She comes back after 10 minutes and says as if she still doesn't understand, which pharmacy is this going to? at this point I;m loosing my freaking mind now because this lazy person just lied to me saying the script was being sent in . I had to come in to the office to get this girl to get up off her ass and do her job to communicate to the nurse my need. And then to my face she tells me it was taken care of when obviously she had not even talked to them. If this was my business she would be fired. So if you are out there listening. These negative reviews you are getting I think are related to 1 or 2 front office staff who are lazy, poor communicators who know nothing about customer service and a caring attitude. I hope this issue is addressed.

I grew up in Mount Vernon, and have lived here on and off throughout my adult life. Any time I've been living in town, this practice has been home my primary care physician. I've seen different providers over the years - Dr. Leslie Estep, Dr. Mitchell, Dr. Hansom - but I've always been happy with their care. Thorough, friendly, and on-time. The same goes for the nurses and receptionists.

Absolutely awful. My sister in law had side pains and waited a really long time before being seen. (Almost an hour and a half after checking in)The waiting area was not crowded at all, only a couple of people where there when we arrived. Afterwards the paper summary of her visit was incorrect in a few areas and also listed her as a male! She had been going there for about 3 years. What is with this place??? Glad I'm not a patient there, she said she will be finding a new doctor's office very soon.
