Great service. I was in a meeting as I walked into the hotel. The check in was seamless. They requested my IDs and within minutes I got my room. I didn't have to disengage from my meeting. I really appreciate the staff understanding at that moment. Rooms are nice, a bit more towards the old fashioned side, but well maintained. Has a small little gym on the top floor; the sauna was a nice touch to it, pretty spacious and a good size swimming pool.
I was excited to give the Fairmont in Winnipeg a try while in town for meetings recently. The stay didn't start off very well, I requested an early check in when booking my room and was told it shouldn't be a problem, I ended up showing up late due to a delayed flight and still had to wait an hour and half for my room to be ready almost 5pm. Unfortunately when I got to my room it appeared quite dated, and lacked some basic amenities. I can't recall the last time I had a hotel room that didn't have a microwave and mini-fridge in it. On the plus side the room was quite clean.nnThe biggest saving grace I can talk about at this location was the staff, everyone was incredibly friendly and courteous.
This is a Review for a large scale event.nPros: Nice property inside that is clean and well kept.nCons: Food below mediocre- bland dry chicken, limp soggy vegetables, tough potatoes. They attempted to add moisture by dumping brown liquid on top of ALL the food. Not even sure what it was. Desert=Grocery store quality dry brownie.nCon: Tables were not cleared after all the food was served. Sat at dirty cluttered table for several hours.nCon: Elevators not working making it very difficult for people with mobility issues. Had an escalator going up BUT only stairs going down.nBar service was good if you’re willing to pay $10 a drink.nParking equals $14 for 3 hours.
The velvet glove has teatime, which is really lovely. They also have a great dinner menu. Everything is made very well. I snapped a pic of my mushroom soup one night. Room service was fast! The rooms are OK. Pool was closed but they allowed us to take a free cab to a close pool on Broadway out of a gym. It was nice.. overall good experience. It can be hard to commute by foot around here. Taking a cab you can get anywhere quickly in the city.
The service here is outstanding. The entire staff from the bellman, manager to Valet do everything possible to make your stay comfortable and pleasing. The rooms were a bit outdated but the service made up for it. They send milk and cookies for my 2 year old which was a great gesture. I would recommend staying here at Fairmont.
