We had a very nice view from our room. The room itself was clean and spacious. However, the sofa bed for the third person was extremely uncomfortable to sleep on and should not be considered a proper sleeping option.nnOn the positive side, the food at La Voliel restaurant was very good, and our experience there was made better thanks to Ariel, who provided excellent service and was very kind. Unfortunately, this was the only truly positive service experience we had during our stay.nnOn the negative side, when we went to the restaurant, we waited over 10 minutes without anyone coming to greet or seat us. In general, the service throughout the resort was very poor staff rarely smiled, and it felt as though we were inconveniencing them. Even a simple request to extend our stay by one hour was declined with no effort to accommodate us.nnThe spa facilities were also disappointing. They are outdated, and the atmosphere gave the impression that everything was nearly falling apart. The pools are far too small for the size of the resort.nnOverall, the most disappointing part is that for a rate of $460 per night, the level of service and hospitality was unacceptable. A resort of this price point should provide warm, welcoming staff, better amenities, and a positive customer experience none of which we truly received here.
We had a great experience at this resort. The only recommendation I would make would be to check out the packages available directly with the resort instead of booking through third party such as expedia. Since we booked with Expedia, we couldn't get special deals on spa or restaurant and had to pay full price. Would recommend going for a couple retreat.
The hotel and room were nice, but the overall experience was disappointing. We stayed for 2 nights and specifically paid extra for a lake view, yet this was the view we received — far from what was expected.nnOn the positive side, the food was very good and we especially enjoyed our meals. However, the breakfast buffet felt overpriced for what was offered.nnNoise was another issue. A wedding was taking place and guests were loud in the hallways late into the night, making it difficult to relax or get a good night’s sleep. The following morning, kids were very loud at the pool as early as 8am, which made it impossible to enjoy a quiet morning.nnThis was meant to be a weekend for my husband and I to relax and unwind, but it wasn’t the quiet, restful getaway we had hoped for. Overall, the hotel itself is not bad, but for the price and reputation of the resort, it was disappointing.
The place has potential, but the service is terrible.nnThe positives:nnThe rooms are spacious and generally clean though there was a thick layer of dust on the kitchen shelves.nnThe lake view is stunning, especially during the fall when the colors are at their peak.nnUnfortunately, that’s where the positives end.nnThe negatives:nnBooking: The process was extremely frustrating. On my first attempt, I was left on hold for over 20 minutes. When someone finally answered, she couldn’t complete the booking and promised to call back within an hour. She never did.nThe next day, I called again, waited 30 minutes, and was immediately hung up on once someone picked up. It took four calls and nearly two hours before I was finally able to book a room. That should have been a warning sign.nP.s. we couldn't book online because we wanted to use a gift card someone gave us. There was no option to apply a gift cardnnSpa reservations: My wife called four days before our arrival to book a massage. No one answered, and despite leaving several messages, no one ever returned her calls. She finally managed to reach someone on the day we arrived, only to be told they were fully booked. When she asked why no one called her back, staff falsely claimed they had left a message—which never happened.nnHousekeeping & room service: During our three-day stay, our room was never cleaned, and coffee supplies were never restocked. There is no room service, so you can’t order from the restaurants either.nnFacilities: The pool bar and snack bar are only open on weekends, so don’t expect drinks during the week. The spa is tiny—just four small jacuzzis. The steam sauna was out of order, only one pool was open and the cold bath was dirty.nnFood: On the first night, we ordered two small pizzas as take-out, they were okay, but at a $70 cost, extreamly overpriced . The second night was even worse: we had a 7:00 p.m. dinner reservation, but when we arrived, the host told us they couldn’t seat any more guests. He was dismissive and indifferent, despite the restaurant being nearly empty maybe 25% full at most.nnOverall:nThis place could be great, but the lack of professionalism, service, and honesty ruins the experience. With so many other options offering similar views—and far better service—I wouldn’t waste my money here.
Day 2 at the resort. The rooms are very nice and modern with excellent beds. The check-in was efficient except that they forgot to give us our black wrist bands so we were turned away at the poolside. Had to go back and do a mini second check in. Wasted some time but not bad. It’s on a nice lake. The spa/pool area is well laid out. But the biggest issue which is unfortunately is that 1 there are not enough chairs, so it’s a fight for chairs, people leave their towels all day even if the chairs are not used 2 not enough shaded area. For the life of me, I can’t understand why they have not figured this out. Let me help: put more long chairs. Done. Too bad. It’s an easy fix. Trying to rest on vacation and instead we’re annoyed with the basics. Otherwise, it’s a nice hotel.
