Walked in and was seated right away! Great food- I got the Lemon Ricotta pancakes and they were very satisfying. Light, fluffy and a crisp edge! The flavor itself was awesome reminded me of home cooked food. The coffee was incredibly delicious- infused with cinnamon Latin American style and don’t worry, the refills kept comin! This place is perfectly quaint and unpretentious. It seems to be a small team, but the service was 12/10!! Will be back to try more!

Service was great, coffee is excellent with the added cinnamon but not overdone, and the 4 different dishes we had were great. We were only in town for the week and ended up eating here twice. It's cozy and can fill up quickly but we loved it!

Small place with reliably great food! Super friendly and attentive service. First time went around 11:30 with my husband on the weekend and had to wait only like 20 minutes. Second time came at 10:30 with a friend on a Saturday and had no wait. I’ve had a few things there but my favorite is the poblano eggs - I wanna smother that sauce over everything.

Cute little restaurant in Boystown. Ordered the breakfast tacos. Honestly, it was okay for me. It was average and nothing to rave about. I've definitely had better breakfast tacos at other places. Staff and service was friendly and good. I'd come back to try other things on the menu.

We had the torta, egg & pesto and salmon sandwich their regular drip and an americano because I'm not into the cinnamon in my coffee, which means no refills. Everyone enjoyed the food, i understand the salmon was a bit overcooked but still good. Great service, with a smile. It's BYOB!!

Esencia is one of the best breakfast and lunch spots in east Lakeview. The food is delicious, the dining area is bright and light, and the service is polite and warm. Especially worth noting: housemade baked goods, cinnamon-infused coffee, and the cubana sandwich

The Chilaquiles Verdes are delicious!! Hands down some of the best Chilaquiles I’ve ever had. Tasty, with a hint of spice, and more importantly, super crunchy! Also comes with a side of rice & refried beans. Highly recommend!!

I have been enjoying this place for 8 years and its one of my favorite brunch spots in Chicago. The food and coffee are always consistent and fresh. The staff are always very welcoming and helpful too!
