The best place in town for exotic fruit; they always have the best passion fruit, mangos, and interesting vegetables! Cleanest store in the city, friendliest and most knowledgeable staff. A real winner, hope it sticks around for another 50 years.

Great general grocer but even better for the butcher, cheeses, and the seasonal and exotic fruits. The folks who work here are friendly and helpful, the prices are reasonable, and the food is good. Triple threat :

I met two beautiful sisters whom I believe run the store tonight and I am so glad I stopped by. They are indeed charming, friendly and so helpful. They go the extra mile to make sure you are a happy customer! Wonderful service aside, they also hold a great variety of products. My mother was very pleased! I’m less well versed in what products should be available at a Portuguese grocery store! Again, so glad I came here and will be returning!

Excellent shopping experience. A lovely family grocery, with a quality butcher. You should be prepared to adjust expectations for brands and potentially products. This grocery is small, but perfect if you are willing to substitute. I've never had a bad experience.

Great grocery store for the diaspora, with excellent chouriço, and I always get torresmos for a snack. They have all your spices, sauces, and ingredients, with bacalhau just like in the old country

A very lovely mom and pop shop. You can tell the whole family works there. Good variety and fair pricing. Bread is always fresh. It says "Fils" but it is ran by some strong and charming ladies.

Forty two years later, still the most welcoming family, doing an admirable job of keeping Luso-Canadians well stocked in those essential tastes we never forget. Quality of products, but more than anything, the quality of sentiment is what makes Soares' such a unique grocery store.

Really great store, a big variety of Brazilian and Portuguese products, clean place and nice service. I live a bit far, so I call and ask if they have some specific things I need, then they kindly reserve it for me. Highly recommended!
