They had a pop up at Square One mall Food District in Mississauga. I went Saturday almost closing and luckily there was still a few selection left. It was $16 for the assorted half dozen. The lady was really nice and gave me one extra and a $1 discount. I got to try the classic, red velvet, taro, cinnamon, cookies and cream, and the nutty as a bonus! I told the lady if the hype was real and if it would really make go insane for it and surprisingly it did! I’m a regular Ensemada eater and this one goes as one of my favourites. The flavours are a nice spin and a break from the traditional and serves as a nice way to intrigue other backgrounds to have a go and try it but in terms of the classic ensemada I’d say I love it. Soft not dry, buttery, and the cheese is just enough. Perfect sizes to satisfy one’s craving. I hope they open a store in the west end. I’d definitely be one of their regulars.
They had a pop up at the food district at square one. We tried the taro, red velvet, biscoff and cookies and cream. They are so delicious and very soft, not too sweet and just so flavourful. I will be coming back to square one this weekend to buy more!!! Highly recommended!!!
Filipino brioche with a twist indeed. We love the creative flavours and cute presentation of these yummy, fluffy treats. Perfect for gifting to others or as a treat for yourself. Make sure you try the ube flavour.
Got this Cinnamon Dulce @ thier pop-up @ Erin Mills Town Centre and it was good! Nice fluffy sweet bun topped with cinnamon butter cream, simple but tasty and not as sweet as you may imagine. You should try one or two
Ensaymada is one of the home based businesses that started during the pandemic and flourished to the point where it allowed the business owners to open up a brick and mortar store. The location is a little hard to find close to Kennedy and Ellesmere on the north west side. You can find it close to Mishka's restaurant. There isn’t seating at the store; just pickup only. The store is open from 10 AM to 2PM extended to 4pm during the summer, or until goods are sold out. For those of you who are not aware, ensaymada are a Filipino type of bread. These are traditionally covered in buttercream or butter and sugar mixture. What I love about Ensanemada’s particular product is that the brioche is dense yet pillowy and delicious, with the right amount of sweetness imparted by the topping and/or filling. Ensanemada makes their ensaymada in popular flavours such as ube, matcha, red velvet, traditional cheese, as well as other unique flavours including some savoury flavours. I’m partial to the sweet flavours. I paid $26 for a dozen pieces end of day sale price, which I felt is a good price to pay for this product. Highly recommended!
Went yesterday as my wife had a craving for ensaymadas. We’re a bit of a drive away but decided to make the trek to Scarborough as that’s the closest area to pick some up. There were several places to choose from but landed on Ensanemada. Boy are we glad we found this little gem. It’s a little difficult to locate in the plaza as it’s a small shop with no sign, but eventually found it. I didn’t realize there were so many options as I’m only familiar with the original ensaymadas. The lady behind the counter was very nice and very friendly and explained the different flavours to my wife. We ended up grabbing a half dozen originals and one Ube I believe. They were amazing! They were so soft, fresh and delicious, I’m not sure, but I think when we googled the place we read something like “best in Toronto” somewhere to which my wife commented that it was a very bold statement. I asked my wife afterwards if they lived up to that statement? and she said absolutely, best she’s ever had. We will definitely be returning customers!
a wonderful random find via Google search on keywords "ensaymada Scarborough" they offer a great variety of flavours including classic cheese, coconut pandan, mango, matcha, cookie crumble, red velvet and cinnabon dulce. they make their own ube halaya from scratch! and their ensaymada is perfect in every way: size, sweetness not too sweet softness and chewiness — all on point. i also dig the tastefully designed and practical hard stock baking cup the brioche sits on. and they're nicely individually wrapped. they also have mini ensyamadas and recommend ordering in advance for the minis. helpful, super friendly staff!
Went to their pop up at square one today. I literally took one bite from the matcha and had to give this review. It's probably a good thing this shop is in Scarborough or else I'd go broke lol thank you for such a treat!
Tried these at Sq1 pop up…got the assorted. Kids loved the cookies n cream, ube, red velvet, green tea. Original does it for me…the creamy butter is heaven.
Got to try them out at smorgasborg 2022. I like the attention to detail in their packaging and pamphlets. The brioche buns were really fluffy and tasty - very well balanced taste. They had a melon drink at smorgasborg and it was great as well - very refreshing. Hope to visit their storefront soon!
