Third time visiting this location - everything we've tried has always been fresh and delicious. Loved the soft kunafa warmed up!! So many varieties of baklava and other sweets. There are also sugar free options available! Would have given 5 stars but the service varies. Received great service today but have received poor service the time before.
Someone who likes baklavas and similar kind middle eastern desserts should try this hidden gem. This is my second visit, I am very impressed with there presentation and taste. Usually presentation and taste are very hard to synchronize but crown pastries manages to pull it off. A must try outlet. Toronto’s middle Eastern sweet paradise.
I tried Baklava for the very first time from Crown Pastries and I loved it very much. Baklava is a layered pastry dessert made of filo pastry. It was one of the most popular sweets of the Ottoman Empire. Someone who likes baklavas and similar kind middle eastern desserts should try multiple options this place has to offer. I enjoyed the presentation and taste. We did a mix and match of multiple products to taste them for the first time and we don't regret it. I truly recommend this place and the baklava. My favorite was the Nutella Sewar. Must Try !!!!
Exceptional customer service. Joudy or Judy if i am not mistaken has been very patient and make sure we get to taste before we make any purchase. Great baklavas too. Clean and neat shop! Coming back again.
This place definitely wins on presentation! To be clear, this review is only based on the tastiness, composition, and overall authenticity of their Baklava. I had high hopes for the varied selection, but I was unfortunately disappointed with the taste of their “best seller” variant. The redeeming selection was the “Baklava roll”, I could eat a TON of that. I would suggest less use of butter or whatever the oil that is used for the composition of the treats. It leaves an off-puting taste in my opinion.
Finally dropped by and totally fell in love with this bakery When I first entered the store, I was taken away by the buttery and nutty aroma immediately. I got a bit of everything and the taste has been superb. Very friendly staff too!
Clean and Well maintained store. Coming from an Indian origin, this my first ever time shopping for baklavas. Friendly staff paiently answered my doubts. Got an assorted box. The baklavas themselves were veryyy tasty and fresh. For my vegetarian sweet toothed friends- Most of the baklavas they have, have no egg ! And to my ‘added-sugar’ conscious friends- they have sugar free desserts too.
Amazing, fresh and delicious baklava! Brought a tray into the office and everyone loved it and asked where they could find it! Everyone said it was the best baklava they have ever tasted. Super high quality and excellent customer service. The only problem I had was deciding which baklava was my favourite, because they are all wonderful, crunchy pastry, lots of nuts and perfect amount of sweetness
Be aware!! Not the place to buy cakes! Purchased chocolate cake with Brazil nuts on top for $32 around 9 pm ish got home and found out the bottom of the cake had mold took the picture and brought the cake back to the store about 9:35pm ish the person at the counter refunded the money paid by debit & got cash refund and offered baklava, but we refused to get anything anymore from this location! We got the refund but I’m shocked and sad cuz this was our go to place for baklavas and cookies ! Still can’t believe the cake had mold too bad won’t be returning.
I mostly got the baklava or baklava-based items here, and they were all very good, in my opinion. I think of all of them, the Turkish Baklava and the one with the cheese/custard in it I'm very sorry; I forgot the name were probably my favorite, so far. The others I got were still great, of course. All of them has the crispiness you'd expect from typical baklava, and just the right amount of sweetness at least, to me; I know some people consider baklava far too sweet, in general. Additionally, I really loved the service of the place here. The person I talked to was very patient with my questions, and she was very informative. Of note, she told me what items she liked best, and have me a bit more background on some of them too ex, that the pistachio baklava was more traditional style. They also let you sample some of the items here, before you buy, which, as with any place, was nice. The sample portions they gave were actually very generous like, in my case, half of a cut of baklava. I actually felt guilty accepting that size, and I think if the staff ever wanted/needed to, I think giving an even smaller sample ex, maybe 1/4 or even 1/8 is totally fine by me. Price-wise, they mostly charge by weight, and as of writing 2022, ~16 pieces resulted in a ~$20 price tag see my picture for reference. To me, this is fairly decent. Overall, I enjoyed my time here, and would visit again. They have many different items, and I'm keen to try some others I saw like the kunafa.
