Awesome camping experience at Elora Gorge Conservation Area! Tubing in the park was so much fun. All booking was done online and made the process much smoother. Very kind and welcoming park staff. Amazing views of the Gorge and stars at night.
Very fun family experience. We brought some water guns to keep things interesting during the slower parts of the river. Bring your own tubes, helmets and life jackets to save money. Be prepared to do a lot walking.
Elora conservation park has beautiful trails that takes you from the hill top to the waterbody below. As for difficulty, it is a fairly easy hike suitable both for adults and kids. There are a few look out spots as we descend down. Once you climb down the stairs to the lake you’ll see tubers moving along the gushing waters. I would recommend visiting the park during fall for the beautiful colours. There are many parking spots and picnic benches to have a snack after the long walk. The trails can go upto 7km but can be completed in 3-4 hours.
The Elora Gorge is also part of the Grand River Conservation Authority. It is also a beautiful place. One can hike going to the river over hilly and rocky paths. Once you get to the river, you can cross it to the other side and view the caves. There is also a picnic area.
I visited Elora Gorge not in the Conservation Park it was closed. I went close to the Mill and walked around the gorge along the black fenced area in the woods. It was beautiful, kind of like Niagara Gorge. The quaint town was also sweet, I was with a friend and we loved it! Nice for a hike. There a few restaurants and cafes around the town as well. On a sunny day it would be perfect!
Having fun with family at Elora Gorge Registration fee +tubing equipments rental = $50 per persononline booking Parking fee $15 at entry gate All staffs are nice, kind well presented. There are huge changing rooms+shower rooms. After rented helmet, tube and life jakect Had to walk for 20min to get starting point It was great course thar mix with tracking and tubing wear comfort shoe and apply anti-bug cream Water little bit cold.. but tolerable lol 2 spot was fast speeding up of flowing water. It was took about 1hr and 20min to get the end spot. I couldn't feel my butt cuz soaking cold water too long lol You have to bring all rental items where you get them. 20min by walking
'The place to hang out.' If you want to camp there are camping sites. The washrooms are well maintained. Hiike on trails are short, given the view of the trails though _ astonishing views , if you dont jump the fences you didnt had fun this is not an advice. We really had fun there, we picked some strawberries on our way to the sites. Me and my friends didnt really set up camp, we were there only for the day, but lots of families were camping. Tubing is also available on the other side of the gorge, other than the walking upward with the tubes it was fun. Amazing scenes for photography.
Secret getaway, an hour and half drive away from Toronto. Very beautiful and very well maintained park and trails. There’s ample parking and kids have a splash pad. Nice scenic views of the gorge and makes for a great weekend hike.
Very beautiful conservation area. Nice place to trek. I heard there are couple of sport activities as well like tubing and zipline, which we are yet to explore.
There are fenced off paths leading you along the gorge. The tubing looks fun! There is an awful septic tank smell in some areas.
