We stopped here on our drive back to Canada and we found this place due to their wonderful reviews! From the moment we walked in, the service was so friendly! And the food was super delicious and the portions were massive we had to take the rest to go while crossing the border! We would definitely return! And their home made salsa and chips they just give to you were amazing!
THE definition of authentic Mexican food in the states. This restaurant serves the most wonderfully simple but flavorful food I've had in a very long time. Truly a mom and pop operation so the anesthetics are somewhat lacking, but don't let that deter you from trying this place out. You won't be disappointed! As a bonus, they are in the Alaska mileage plan dining network so you really can't go wrong there. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Super delicious food. Excellent hot sauce, too. The server said the hot sauce is made in-house by mom. Salsa was on-point. Chips freshly fried. Tacos were amazing. 10/10 going back.Food: 5/5
Best customer experience. Variety of Mexican dishes unlike others. So much explore. They are so sweet and caring. Food is out of the world. Omg!!! Tasted heavenly. Best Mexican food we have had. Definitely coming back they offered free water bottles and tortilla chips with salsa dip. And made it spicy for me but made sure I am ok with the spice level. Reminded of my home
Excellent food, very well prepared and unique take on the usual. I ordered the chicken fajitas that were spiced perfectly with homemade salsa and guacamole. Wrapped in super soft tortillas were the best I've had in years. Also ordered the al pastor burrito which is large enough to be two meals by itself. Excellent pork seasoning. Top it all off with well made rice and refried beans. I had three meals out all this and will be coming back for more soon. Well done El Jacalito!
This place did not disappoint! Stopped by here and had the Pozole which was sooo tasty! It was best Pozole I had in the states and tastes just like in Mexico. The owners were very friendly, place was clean and service was great. Will be back for more.
Salsa is perfect. Not spicy, and tastes freshly made. I had the large homemade tacos, the tortillas were perfect. I tried Al Pastor, Asada, and Carnitas. Again, not spicy, which is very nice to be able to taste your food, you can always make it spicy if you wish. Only negative, though minor, the tortilla chips were thicker than I would like. But the prices were good, the staff was great. Will definitely come back. Very open and large seating area compared to other strip mall restaurants.
This family-run restaurant is my favorite! Their chicken burrito is delicious and they make their own hot sauce which is BOMB. SOOOOO GOOD!!! I highly recommend them. Really nice people, spotless establishment, and great food!
The restaurant was very nice and open on the inside and had excellent service. Food portions are large and hot from the kitchen. The parking and ramp to the front door are a bit unusual, but this establishment is definitely worth a visit.
Great find, what luck it’s here. Family that runs it are super engaging and friendly and clearly care a lot about their food and ingredients. The Birria Tacos were the best I’ve ever had and the asada as well as carnitas made incredible tacos. I’ll be back for sure, would recommend it to anyone!
