Ok here’s the deal … the beds are new and the pillows are great !! … the room is clean and the TV works fine !!nThe location is optimal - walking distance to Matty O’Sheas and Rob Roy’s is connected to the hotel - both restaurants serve excellent food !!nKhan the owner/mgr is an absolute gentlemen, and all the staff are wonderful to deal with. We chose this place last minute while visiting Ottawa for a three-day museum trip, and it worked out great. The property is a bit dated but extremely clean, with very comfortable beds, clean linen and good breakfast options included. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the lake views were a nice bonus. About an hour from the main attractions, but overall excellent value for money. Hair dryer, towels, and basic toiletries soap and shampoo, microwave, tiny fridge, coffee maker were provided. Great economic spot to stay. Has lots of vintage charm definitely an older spot but worth what you pay and the view of the river makes up for it. Rooms have everything you need.

I booked a room for the night and when I arrived to check in I was informed that there was a manager's decision regarding my booking and they refused to honor the booking. I booked the room through a third party website at a discount. I was informed that I had to contact the third party website to get my refund and that they would decline the payment on their end in the morning?? What kind of place does this to their honest, paying customers? I've never been more confused and felt more disrespected in my life! Stay far far away from this place! They have a good location, but aside from that, horrific customer service! I'm now scrambling to find a room to stay for the night and I'm left to just trust that they're going to get my money back sometime soon? Not a chance! Anyone looking for a place to stay while in Smiths Falls, DO NOT BOOK AT THE ECONOLODGE!!!

Good hotel considering the price. Rooms are worn out, but not dirty. Amazing view and location, lot of parking space.
