The food is on the more expensive side, and overall, tasted alright. They changed their menu and included new dishes, which are pretty good, but there are fewer items than before, and the selection of sushi rolls is quite limited. Great staff!
Great sushi and great drinks. Cool spot if your hungry but also down for some colorful drinks and shots. Owner came by and made sure everything was going well. Attentive and friendly staff. Uni carbonara is a must try!Food: 5/5
Went to Ebisu for lunch with a friend and it had been awhile since I've visited this restaurant. The lunch menu was pretty simple, one side of the menu were Bentos that ranged from $16-$18 and the other side was 3 combination meal that was $16 or each dish is $6. I decided to go with the 3 combination: Yam roll, salmon sashimi & chicken teriyaki. The yam roll was nice, it wasn't overcooked and still had a slight firmness to it, which I prefer. The salmon was nice and fresh and I did enjoy the presentation. The chicken teriyaki had a nice crispy skin, the meat was moist and had the perfect amount of teriyaki sauce. The service was friendly and we didn't wait long for our food, however we did arrive a few minutes after 12 and did notice a few people coming in shortly after us, so it could get busier around 1 or so. It's a perfect spot for a sit down lunch if you have an hour break.
They only serve lunch specials and 3 for $15 during lunch. I thought there would be choices off the menu but it's for dinner only. Teriyaki chicken didn't taste like Japanese teriyaki, I was really disappointed. The 'yam' tempura was squash. I'm definitely not coming back.
Best place around cambie/broadway. It is pricey though, I recommend coming here with a group of 3 or 4 to enjoy the experience. The quality is unmatched in the neighborhood, you won't find anything better. Staff are very sociable and work hard.
Went there for lunch today, not too hungry so I was not interested in their Bento Boxes which are substantial and filling besides delicious, and was pleasantly surprised by their lunch menu which had a cold soba and tempura lunch plate - it was fantastic: The bright matcha-coloured noodles were refreshing with a el-dente-esque texture done just right and when dipped into the light sauce that was tangy and not too salty it was sublime. But also impressive was their presentation - have a look at the photo, sorry I was not taking a foodie picture but had a shot with my guest so I cropped it.
New edit: They have changed name but it’s still the same owner. Along with the change is a modern menu with some new items. The uni udon is super flavourful, and the aburi sushi still rocks. Good old stomping grounds. Used to come here for Happy Hour after work many years ago. So glad they’re still doing HH and royal miyagi is still cheap. Recently their sushi offerings have improved. They have actually good sushi now and is worth a try. Oh and their truffle fries. Best in all of Vancouver.
Great place to have sushi. We have been eating here on every trip we've made to Vancouver for years. Service is friendly, food wait time is minimal, food taste is excellent. 150$ for a family of four to question both, if they ordered too much food, and if it's rude to undo to top button of your pants before leaving.Food: 5/5
Always love coming here with friends! On our most recent visit, the server and manager that evening were transparent and gave us a heads up that we had just placed our order AFTER a large party of 22. They communicated that they were slightly understaffed that night because said party was originally booked as a small party. I can't speak for the party, but I really appreciated how the staff kept clear communications and expectations for us, so even though it took a while for our food items to come, we were reassured by the staff already. Not only were we emotionally prepared for the wait, but the food here always hits the spot and we all left happy. They also gave us complimentary ice cream for the wait - thank you!!
Very good service and the quality of the food is amazing. It’s delicious.
