Came here to watch Thursday night NFL football and weren't disappointed. Very good wings and burgers plus a great tap selection including some great local craft beers. Only issue was that the place was pretty empty so the atmosphere was super quiet. Hope this place gets more people out because it's a good setup for watching sports and enjoying some good pub fare.
Was looking for a sports bar to watch a college football game while my wife and I were in town. We were pleasantly surprised by the look and feel of the place as well as the friendly/courteous staff and owners. It’s especially nice when a sports bar actually plays the game sound. Overall a fantastic experience!
Excellent sports bar for folks who like watching sports. Anchor Steam ale on draft is a welcome change, and their deep fried mac and cheese was pretty great! The service was prompt and accurate and entirely too forgiving of my group's shenanigans which was a big plus.
Finding the best sports bar has always been a goal of mine no matter what city throughout the world I visited. I’ve been to all but a handful of U.S. states, most countries in Europe, the Caribbean, South America, and several in the Middle East and Asia. I only visited Morocco in Africa, and never Antarctica! I’m very fortunate and grateful for the wonderful life and travels I’ve had. Arriving in Victoria for a month long vacation in early July, I visited 4-5 other neighborhood bars for an afternoon “brew” or two before dinner. When I found “Dylan’s”, I knew immediately I’d found the best sports fans’ bar in Victoria. PERIOD! Like the very best of the genre for watching athleticism, there are TV screens EVERYWHERE and the selection of games, matches, tournaments, or races is endless with the broadcast networks available on the bar’s satellite system. Ask to watch a different event, and the staff will happily change a channel for you. On the subject of the bar and wait staff, you’ll not find nicer or more attentive servers. Joe, Cam, Sarah, and newly hired Amanda, will take excellent care of you. Never pushing you to drink more, and respectful of your privacy as you text, email, or browse the internet who doesn’t these days?, they are ready when you are to serve another tasty “cold one”. The owner, Jason, now retired from the Canadian Navy, always “makes the rounds” greeting customers, checking on their enjoyment of the bar he’s so rightfully proud to own -a gracious gentleman, through and through. My review honestly can’t speak of the food, as I never dined at Dylan’s. However, those who did order appetizers, the burgers, or other menu offerings said everything was great! For people like me who love sports, and enjoy the convivial atmosphere of devoted local patrons as in the 1980’s classic “Cheers” show with Ted Danson, et al., this bar, in my sincere opinion is the real deal in Victoria. Visit, relax, and enjoy this great place as I did. Cheers to all!
TVs were small and outdated, atmosphere was mediocre at best, but worst of all, food was terrible. Wings were soggy, deep fried mac and cheese was bland. Overall, food is very overpriced. I paid $25 for the Dylan's platter. They were out of Gyozas, so they said they would give me more wings instead. I got 6 wings not entirely sure how many you normally get. 2?, a few pickles, a few onion rings, and one blob of fried mac and cheese. It was very disappointing to look at, even more disappointed when I tasted it. Also, that little plate took 45 minutes to come out. It's not like any other table were getting a whole lot of food either. I only saw a few baskets of fries and onion rings served during that 45 minutes I waited for my food. Dont know what the kitchen was doing, but if it takes 45 min to fry up a couple of baskets of fries and one small plate of wings and etc, you are doing something terribly wrong.
I believe I was here only days after it had opened. The place is AWESOME! Great screens and awesome tap selection. The hosts are also great and the food is amazing. You cannot ask for a better pub feel with very good food that from this place. If I lived in Victoria, this would be a go-to restaurant.
Decent sports bar. They were very accommodating when askef to turn on the 6th game of Stanley Cup/NHL. Food was adequate. Charcuterie plate okay, pretty good burger, and pretty reasonable prices overall. Service was very good.
Was 4 people in the place, my husband and I were 2 of them. Had 3 beers each. Had to flag the waitress over for our beverages and our bill. Too busy talking to one of the other 2 customers. Will not be back. My husband actually knocked his empty beer can on the floor, the waitess turned and looked because it made a sound, and she still didn't come over to our table. Wow!! Worst service in victoria
SKIP THIS PLACE I WISH I COULD GIVE NEGATIVE STARS Was so excited for a night out!!! Got there had our drink order taken. Not a bad wait except our drink order was wrong ordered a berry mojito, got a normal one said no big deal cuz meh, mistakes happen. Ordered shots got them pretty fast... Waited so long for our food, even had our waitress come out and be like sorry... our food FINALLY came we had NO Quality check as our order was wrong we had to ask for our bill and I saw that the berry mojito was on there as well as our wrong food order which is unacceptable as we were the only ppl in this place, no quality check, no more drink refills, Pretty sad for a Friday night, 10:00 PM in a not busy bar. We should of taken the hint when we saw next door was LINED up, and Dylans had 7 ppl. Including our party of 4. This place wont last the summer. Subpar food, terrible service, and next door to a really popular fun place
DYLAN! WHERE WERE YOU ON YOUR GRAND OPENING? ? Dude, your bar needs to be tightened up... To start: my white wine was served in a red wine glass. My husband's sleeve of beer was served in a highball glass. The potatoe skins were ummm.... lacking see photo. The gyoza, although pretty, were luke warm. Your bartender was nice, and took them off our bill. All in all, I wouldn't come back. No atmosphere, food and drinks were subpar, but the staff was friendly. Not in a hurry to come back unless you tighten up your game significantly.
