we stayed there for 10 days, we knew they were doing constructions and were ok with that. paid for full hook ups ( and our mistake, we expected a place to do our laundry and maybe extra showers, but no such luck ) the place was ok.. most of the other campers live there and have junk all around their campers ( it's a small campground, so you think appearance was important, but I guess not. ) our camper was right under the trees, which at first I thought that was just so beautiful ... WRONG !!! stroh winds came in, lots of rain and our camper was under acorn attack.. it sounded like gun fire half the night, but we were lucky enough to get away without damage. Monday night during the storm the power went out and since their water comes from a well, there was no water for a day or so. we stayed 'til Thursday and by the time we left, there was still no power. water was also turned off after at night since it was running on a generator. when we left we asked about some kinda refund, since we paid for services they couldn't provid ( i know they weren't planning on a storm, but running a place like that you should be prepared, and if you can't provide a full service, don't charge me for it. ) i was told it was difficult for them to provide water with the generator, but again, not my problem. you offer a service, i pay for it, i expect to have that service. .. but she said they will not refund anything. so we know better for next time. we will not return next time we are up there and wouldn't recommend it either. especially if you plan on staying more than a couple of days and you need to do laundry ( the closest laundry place is disgusting and with the machine only running for 25 min. the laundry doesn't get clean )

We spent two weeks here in.November. The owners were very accommodating. There are a couple full time residents, but they are very friendly. There was some improvements going on while we were there. New field lines for their septic. There is no cable hookup, but many channels on the TV via antenna. It is an older campground, with nice shady spots. A playground for the kids, but that is about it. Nice trails to walk too. Oh, late in the season the electricity is monitored. We were charged $30 after running an electric heater for the two weeks. Seemed very fair.

Durham leisure campground is a beautiful place to stay no campers older than 10 years are not allowed year round because they usually fall apart during the winter. The place has beautiful trails to walk on and the place is well built. I have been living here for over a year and I absolutely love it.... I recommend camping here and I assure u you won't regret it!!!!!!!

Can you give no starts? Negatives maybe?
Total snobs! In the middle of nowhere with no campground amenities and they wont let campers older than 10 years in! Like they are high class. Dumpy kinda place with a bunch of broken down/fallen apart campers forgotten in the woods.
Crappy place with stuck up people. DO NOT GO THERE!

New owners are upgrading entire campground; great family atmosphere! Pool being installed this spring and more sites being added. Given a .little time, this will be a 5 star campground
