At the urging of a co worker, my husband and I booked July 4th weekend at Blueberry Pond. We are experienced campers, but this was our first time out with our new to us rig. The owners were super pleasant when checking in, and pointed out where our water, electric and sewer hook up were on the site. Once we got backed in and leveled several campers came over to offer help to my husband as we were not use to some of the features on our new camper. The playground was small but our 10 year was happy with it. She loved riding her bike around the campground. Our weekend was mostly wet and cold, so we didn't get a chance to use the pool. We did however check out the frog pond which was also a highlight. The owner let her use some nets and she was able to catch a few frogs. We plan on going back in the future.
Small, quiet campground with large sites set in the woods with a pool and playground. Half the sites are for tents and half have hook ups, plus there's one cabin. Bathhouse is dated but clean and functional. Owners were very nice and have a fire on the weekends that everybody is welcome to sit around. Excellent Wifi. There are 3 owls in the area that are occasionally heard.
Nice cozy campground nestled in the woods, of Maine . A great getaway, was very quiet and mostly adult campers. The owners & campground hosts were friendly and went out of there way to help us when we developed a radiator leak, which thanks to them we were able to repair ourselves and be on our way after our stay.
The reviews are true, the owner, Bill, is absolutely the rudest we’ve ever come across. Made everyone uncomfortable. He gets off on screaming at people to slow down and only does it when he’s showing off for his people on the porch. Get a life. We were literally going 4 mph. Total joke. The Park was also almost totally empty while he was screaming at us going 4mph. As a business owner I’m not sure the logic behind treating your paying customers with so much disrespect. Also we were told one price over the phone and then when we got there and all set up we were told it would an extra 15 a night on top of the 48.00... not cool. Hopefully word spreads enough so Bill has no one to yell at to show off in front of his friends.
Very unimpressed. When my boyfriend and I decided to camp here he called in advance asking if they had an open space for a tent. We were told they did, and he informed them he would call back in a minute. Not even 10 minutes later he called and was told they had booked up entirely yesterday. I thought it strange so I called and asked and was offered a variety of different sites, so hesitantly I booked it. I came for a night hoping for a fun little vacation, and was greeted with an older man continuously harassing us about the speed we were driving. We checked the speedometer and were in fact going 3 mph. The man told us we were probably going 15. Then when we asked about firewood which is supposed to be an option we were told that the office is closed and we’re outta luck. Overall terrible experience. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.
We stayed here last summer with our camper and enjoyed it enough that we are making two trips this summer - just got back from a short 2 day visit, and in a week and a half we are going down for 8 days. A very quiet place, off the beaten track and yet close to many things. It works great for us.Location: 5/5
The campsites themselves were pretty nice, but the owner, Bill, was extremely rude and confrontational. He went out of his way to literally yell at me twice, in front of a bunch of his house guests, for speeding my gauge said I was driving 3 miles an hour. He refused to listen to my response and continued to yell and gesticulate. It was so bad that I was actually afraid to run into him again so I avoided driving by the owner's house / check-in point for the rest of my stay. The showers are hot and there is a cute frog pond to look at.
Overall great. Stayed mid-week, mostly older crowd, pretty quiet. Owner Bill and staff were friendly and helpful - keep in mind that's Maine friendly, so reserved at first but quick to warm up. $5 for a milk crate full of firewood, delivered to your site. Small office store with the basics. Freeport super close, make sure to also hit Pineland Farms for great local food, beer and wine. Outhouses were pretty bad but good toilets also available. Go elsewhere if you're looking for fancy. Will definitely stay here again.
The dirt road in is about 1 mile of washboard. I went to take a shower and no hot water and the restroom was dirty. The toilet paper was gossamer thin. When I flushed my fresh water line I had mud coming out of it. If I had to run my ac there was a $4.00 charge on top of the very hi price for camping of $48.00. My site was muddy no gravel at all. The campfire ring was broken. No cell service and spotty WiFi. I wouldn’t recommend.
Loved our stay at Blueberry pond. Everyone was so helpful and informative. Two hosts even took their time to take us Moose watching. Most nights we we sat around a community campfire and visited, we loved it. We stayed here for two weeks in July and would stay longer if could.
