Ive came in during a lunch break twice first time I had a donair it was really good second time a donair poutine , it was hot fresh and prpepared quickly and they make a thick doanir sauce they use a nice pita bread as well wonderful donair and poutine for me. Family owned nice cool diner vibe red and white tones it's a cool spot. Family run and the ladies who work hear are beautiful lovely eyes must run in the family and thier professional so it's worth the visit enjoy
Classic 1990s Alberta-style donair was tasty and not too wet. Portion sizes are generous. The food is obviously hand-crafted with care and time. Kid-friendliness: The kids at another booth seemed well pleased with their pizza order.
I couldn’t even wait til I was finished to brag about how awesome this place is. They have super friendly staff with quick and efficient service and we got our food within 10 minutes of waiting. And it tastes heavenly. They seasoned the fries for my poutine and it just made it so much better. Definitely worth making a trip for.
The donair is tasty and enjoyable but the french fries seem undercooked and starchy.Food: 3/5
I've been to 29 donair places in Edmonton and area over the last year and a half, and unfortunately, Duke's Diner makes the worst donair I've ever had. Many 1- or 2-star reviews on sites like these detail poor customer service experiences, but this is not one of them. Service was good, but food was less so. One of the most alluring scents is the smell of slow cooking, spinning donair cones, yet Duke's Diner just smelt burnt upon walking in. Perhaps that was an indication of things to come, because stale pita, bland meat, and somewhat watery sweet sauce were the achilles heel of this donair. The rest of the ingredients were o.k. I never lived in Lister, so Duke's holds no sentimental value to me as the local watering hole for freshman shenanigans. This is a fine place for what it is- which does not include being a good donair spot. Go here when you're smashed, or looking to get smashed, but maybe head east to 109 Street if you're simply just hungry.
In a world filled with overly clean overly corporate dining establishments dukes proves that grease adds flavor and you don't need to fix what ain't broke, the lady behind the counter today was an absolute powerhouse, working the till, serving and cooking on the line, the food was delicious, just good diner food that was absolutely not overpriced draft beer is 5.25 for a 16oz pint are you kidding me???? Killer thanks so much for feeding us well when we came in today. I even got the classic feeling of my thighs peeling off the vinyl seats lol
Our family's Pizza restaurant . Fresh, hot, crunchy french-fries. The pizza is perfectly made. Spaghetti is my granddaughter favorite. Family atmosphere and university students favorite too. The owners are nice and friendly. Eat in or take it home , you will love it too.
Enjoyed the food quality and service. Will return for a quick bite next time we visit Jubilee Auditorium or University.
Atmosphere is like a 1960's diner. Only one staff working the jointbwhen I was there. She was great. I ordered takeaway. Food is good. Price is lower end of mid-range. Will be back.
Delicious Donair! I forgot my pop soda & called them back to "pay it forward" to someone else & she did! Another customer came in & didn't have enough money so she gave it to them! She said she'd give one when I come in again! Wonderful customer service & community member! God bless you!
