Discovery Cafe

This place is fantastic! Stopped by cause it looked like the best thing here and I wasn't disappointed. They make their own bread and the gentleman listened to my concerns about dairy and made sure there was no dairy in any of my food when he prepared it. He had me sit while he made it and hunted me down in the dining area to inquire about butter. I am so happy. I had a Mango, banana and apple juices smoothie and the best ham sandwhich I have ever had. Thank you so much!

Came for the amazing jerk chicken. Stayed for the amazing bread!! My work orders from here regularly for the past 6 years and longer than that before I joined the team. Food is always great. We get the sheppard pie, jerk chicken, lasagna and BREAD! Great family owned business, happy to hear about the move to a stand alone location!

Very good. I had the curry chicken. It was good. My favorite though was the homemade soup. It was chicken and vegs. That was the best.

You need to go here! Don't consider it a fast food place in a mall, but more of a specialty diner that happens to reside in a mall. They have a limited but also amazing while incredibly affordable Jamaican menu. The jerk chicken is fantastic and the portions are huge for the price. If that's not your thing, they offer more diner type foods like a full breakfast, sandwiches, homemade soups, and entrees like roast beef or lasagna. Is it gourmet eating? No, but it also costs a fraction of that, has huge portions, and is still delicious. I keep saying diner because I think that's the best description to encompass the type of food, the portions, and the cost. The people who own/work here are lovely, and it's always nice to banter while your meal is prepared. A friend of mine introduced me to this place about a year ago and I've visited it at least once a month since then, so I'm hoping to spread the word about how great this place is.

I've tried everything around Westmount Mall, and Discovery Cafe easily has the best homemade foods in the area, from homemade soups, sandwiches, Curry chicken, jerk Chicken and assorted amazing flavors all home made precisely by the top Chef, 30 plus years of sumptuous food preparation, if you remember Grandma Lee's This is the beautiful homemade recipes you will once taste again, the best prices on home-cooked meals you will find In Edmonton to date. You don't want to cook but want an actual real meal to feed tour family, stop in for an entire platter of curry, or jerk chicken, maybe you Want real roast beef, potatoes and Shephards pie all home made and hot and fresh to go or stay in the mall and eat. The owners are incredibly great gentle man who will take the time to make sure your fed properly with high quality ingredients and cood made right from the heart. Go ahead spoil yourself, have a real meal for a great price. Vegetarian friendly dishes as well, and ask for a bowl of the amazing Harvest vegetable chicken soup made from scratch by the chef.

The best jerk chicken I have tasted in Edmonton . The owners are very friendly and treats you like family . They also have daily specials Monday - lasagna Tuesday- chicken breast in mushroom sauce Wednesday - chicken schnitzel Thursday- Shepard’s pie and the same on Friday . All good old home cook meals made with love . I would definitely recommend this place .

The food is always delicious! It’s home cooking meets soul food. They have everything from breakfast to lasagna to exotic food such as jerk chicken ,curry chicken and Jamaican patties. The owners are friendly and professional. The food is made with love and that’s what makes it taste so good! I’ve Been going to Discovery Café for two years and It feels more like Home than some where I buy food from.

Gotta say this place is hands down my favourite place to eat! I would rather give my money to these people then one of the fast food chains that are surrounding the place. I think a lot of people by pass it because there are places they are familiar with.. but those people are seriously missing out. The business is family orientated and the food is delicious. I highly suggest this place.
