We stopped by and grabbed a latte, flat white and some treats. I was surprised when I found berries and rhubarb on the coffee cake as I was expecting just a normal coffee cake. I don’t think the rhubarb is a good addition, it just removes all the taste of sweet coffee and makes the whole thing taste like berry jam. Also was kind of a funky texture. The corn flake square was decent. The drinks were satisfying, we were just wishing the treats were a bit better.
A Little Drumroll for Drumroaster Coffee — Cobble Hill’s Hidden GemnnWhat do you get when you blend high-quality coffee, irresistible pastries, a modern West Coast vibe, and unexpectedly heartwarming connections? You get Drumroaster Coffee—a café that lives up to its name and then some.nnFrom the moment we stepped inside, we knew this wasn’t just another coffee stop. The place is beautifully designed—modern, warm, and full of character. You’ll find plenty of seating inside, and even a few outdoor spots for those sunny Vancouver Island days yes, they do happen. The atmosphere is buzzing in the best way, the kind of space where creatives meet caffeine and community is brewed one cup at a time.nnThe Coffee:nLet’s just say—if our tastebuds could write this review themselves, they’d give Drumroaster a standing ovation. Smooth, rich, expertly roasted. No burnt beans or over-frothed milk here. This is coffee done with passion and precision.nnThe Pastries:nWe didn’t plan to try three of them… but sometimes life makes decisions for you. And in this case, life chose well. Each pastry was crafted with real skill—layers of flavor, flaky perfection, not too sweet, not too safe. Just right.nnThe Team:nAnd just when we thought it couldn’t get better—we met Lavender. She greeted us with a smile bigger than the island itself. It wasn’t until later that we discovered she’s the sister of a good friend of ours from Calgary. What are the chances? But honestly, even if we hadn’t known her at all, we would’ve left just as impressed. Her kindness and joyful energy made our experience that much more memorable.nnThe Extras:nDon’t forget to browse the merch—stylish shirts, caps, and gear that you’d actually wear. And if you’re into home brewing, they’ve got top-tier coffee machines for sale that’ll make you think twice about ever going back to your drip brewer again.nnnnFinal Thoughts:nDrumroaster isn’t just about coffee. It’s about connection. Quality. Beauty. Moments you didn’t plan for. In a world that often feels rushed and transactional, this place reminds you that there’s still room for warmth, for excellence, and for joy served by the cup.nnTo the team—thank you. May you keep roasting beans and hearts alike. May everyone who walks through your doors leave a little more encouraged than when they came in.
A true gem in the world of coffee quality. Not the overly trendy, more stylist than coffee shop, but a place where the coffee does all the PR. Pair it with a simple but delicious ham and cheese ciabatta, and your day can't get any better!
Our favourite coffee shop! We always make sure we have time for a stop here when we come to Vancouver island. Chai latte and chocolate chip cookie was incredible! Super quick service, fun merch, and lovely staff :
The place was very busy on a weekend! But the service was still fast and the drinks and food were delicious. I enjoyed the cold brew and a croissant sandwich.
