Story

Learn to play the drums in a fun but structured environment. Students of all ages will learn snare drum technique and beats in all genres in order to play their favorite songs. The teacher will be able to accompany students on guitar and vocals to make this a fun and rewarding experience.

Guido Thylmann is a graduate from the Capilano University Jazz Program. He has been nominated for a Juno Award as a musician on the Album 'Home Is Where The Harp Is' by Harpdog Brown, for which he also received the Muddy Waters Award by the West Coast Blues Association. Guido has been an active member of the Vancouver music scene for over 15 years and has performed and/or recorded with artists as diverse as Roland Gift (Fine Young Cannibals),Thor, Adrienne Pierce, Coco Love Alcorn, Jim Byrnes, Chin Injeti, Adam Woodall, Kelly Brock, Brickhouse (Yale Hotel house band), Retrofitz (Republic houseband) and Soulstream (Funk super group and former Bar None house band).

Guido has a long teaching history in the Vancouver area, both private as well as schools and music shops such as Deep Cove Music, Neil Douglas Guitar Shop, R&R Music, Golden Ears Music, Prussin music, and the Pacific Drum Centre.

Lessons are available for students of all levels and ages. Each lesson is usually scheduled for the same time each week. Students may pay for one lesson at a time and may cancel lessons with 24 hours notice. Please contact me for more info.
