Let me begin by saying that since DRM opened last year, I pretty much need my weekly fix! I keep telling myself that I’m going to try one of their sandwiches but I’m so hooked on their hot food that I have yet to have a sandwich there… Though my wife raves about the sandwiches...
The staff are always friendly and the prices are very reasonable! I can’t say enough good things about this place. You need to stop by and see for yourself....
Get there nice and early because the hot food goes FAST!!

I finally got into this cafe today.  Great place.  Nice ambiance.  A few tables and booths set up, semi-fancy.  Nice soft music.  A lot of food options.  I got the chicken noodle soup and the schnitzel sandwich.  It was huge--I usually finish what I order--I had to take half the sandwich home.  The soup was perfect.  Really, really good--and you can tell it's made from scratch.  The best part of my experience was the owner.  Very friendly, very helpful, kind and patient.  I will for sure be back as there are other options to try.  I heard him say it is more Eastern Europe.  I spent some time in Romania, hope he might make some mititei one day.

Let me begin by stating I am of Polish descent. Paczki is and has been a staple of my family for as long as I can remember on Fat Tuesday. Today, being new to the St. Charles area, I called the European/Polish deli in town. I asked if they were carrying paczki and how much they charged. I almost dropped my teeth out of my mouth when I was told not by one, but two employees that they charge $3.50 and $4.50 a piece! 

That is exceptionally high as you can purchase these in the city at any Polish bakery or deli for $1.29 a piece. 

This really didn't surprise me though. I happened to buy 'so-so' kielbasa recently and found that Daniel loves to triple the price on what it seems like everything. 

If you want paczki and live in St. Charles why pay Daniel triple the price? You can order from any Polish deli and have them delivered to your door for a heck of a lot less. 

Daniel seems to be charging triple because of his location in St. Charles. What a shame!

This place is SO good!! Got the $9 lunch buffet and had an incredible pork/rice and cabbage roll with potato pancakes and beet salad. Also got an Apricot Pazcki to go and was stellar. Will definitely be returning soon!

Also came back a week later and got the split pea soup bowl with bread...amazing!

Has the best homemade German cakes and cookies by a local baker. Their food, service, staff, and packaged foods are fantastic. The owners are always in the store and they really strive to make this place one of the top stops in St. Charles and surrounding areas. Take the time to find this place and make it a a place to visit ASAP! You won't be disappointed
