I visited the market in September 2022. I lived in Pittsburgh and had tried a lot of Polish perogies here. So, when I saw their poster about homemade Ukrainian perogies, I really wanted to see the differences between them. The owner gave me a piece of homemade sausage they had on the counter that I don’t know the name. I really liked it. Then I ordered the hot perogies and sausage. They also gave me the sour cream to eat with the perogies. The perogies are in perfect size. Wonderful combination!
When I walked in, there was no price tags. I still decided to believe this store n I really regret it. I bought some usual stuff like meat, garner grecha and some sweets. Then I found out that prices in that store are 2-3x higher that in other russian/ukrainian stores. I got scammed. Don’t go to this store
Was a regular here when I lived in the area. Make sure you try their homemade sausage. It's excellent! The cured meat selection is great as well. Plenty of other dishes that remind me of home cooked meals by my grandmother. The staff is always friendly and happy to recommend something if you're unsure or unfamiliar with the products.
Scammers No price tags, cashiers just create prices out of nowhere. Been there a few weeks ago, compared prices from this place and other stores and it’s laughable! Avoid this place at all cost!
Good place to buy Ukrainian/Russian products & hot homemade food in st-Lawrence Market ! They have some tasty vegetarian homemade options for good prices if you want to grab a quick lunch. The lady working there was polite and friendly.
I visited this market in 2014 on a college trip from the UK and stopped here for some food as it looked so good. Had a delicious meat patty / burger and some tasty chicken / meat wrap. I often think about the nice food I had, especially during this past week. Hope to one day visit again if ever in Canada.
Everything is shockingly overpriced! You can buy so much food in other stores but almost nothing in this store!
No price tags, prices are so much unbelievably higher than in other stores for the same products. Pure scam
There was no price tags, prices are so much higher than in other stores. Never coming back to this place
For some reason both of the Russian/Ukrainian stores in downtown Toronto are in St Lawrence Market, but this one focuses more on groceries and the other one more on prepared food/deli. They are both a little bit overpriced, probably due to location. I also find that generally the products here are below average. If you're able to go to North York for the stores there I would highly recommend doing that, if not then you can find some "basics" between the two stores here.
