It seems like every time I go to this hole in the wall grocery-cum-restaurant, it manages to exceed my expectations. Do I just keep forgetting how amazing the food is? Generous portions no, really HUGE -- the tacos will do you in. Great flavors from seasonal ingredients. Get the soups if they're available. Vegetarian options are delicious and filling here.
PUPUSAS!!! it might seem odd when you walk in, and you might feel a little lost, but just trust me on this one. walk up the stairs to the cashier. look up and to your right. order. anything. it’s all good. i suggest the chicken and cheese pupusa. then go hand your order to the folks at the back where it says employees only. and then wait. it takes a few minutes to create delicious! did i mention it’s also incredibly cheap? $3.25 for one. if you want to pay debit, just buy two! you’ll probably want two anyways. your welcome.
Authentic Latin American food hole in the wall type place. I ordered a cheese and bean pupusa and vege tamale. The real star of the show was the tamale. My friend who has eaten his fair share of Latin American food in California said this place had the best tamales he’s ever eaten. Would recommend if you’re looking for a quick bite to eat in Kensington!
This is my go to when I need a tamale fix. I will always grab a few tacos, pupusa and whatever else tickles my fancy but the tamales are so good. This is a tiny bodega of a store with some good groceries and a few tables. It’s nothing fancy and everything delicious. The staff are always so nice and explain all my many questions. Please follow @joannasable on Instagram for more food fun.
So friendly owner and he recommended these two, a chicken tamale and a pork pupusas. 10/10 on taste and it was also really cheap for a rather large meal.
Super flavourful food in a wonderful little hole-in-the-wall. I got a cheese pupusas and a fried plaintain. 100% would be back.
From the perspective of a traveller to Toronto, this little restaurant/ grocery store was a true and authentic experience. The pupusas were wonderful and made right before you.
Excellent pupusas. The cheese pupusa tasted just like ones I would get in Guatemala. Would definitely come again
Real Deal Latin American Tienda. Prime Kensington. The Kitchen in the back is kind of a hidden gem. Offers several Central American regional dishes. Go for it!
Love this little place, tiny but great service and pupusas
