I’d give this place less than 1 star if I could. My family doctor is here but anytime we need her, the receptionist won’t call back for hours and the nearest appointment we can make is end of day or next day. It is completely ridiculous especially in times my kids have real issues and I’m forced to always go to our walk-in instead of see our family doctor. At this point I’m not even sure why we have a family doctor. Will be actively looking for a new one although our medical system is just pathetic to say the least.
I’d give 0 stars if I could. He’s an issue we’ve dealt with frequently: Yesterday we brought our kids to the clinic. Our oldest was on antibiotics and we suspected our youngest was quickly getting there as he spiked a fever in the morning 102 range. She saw us one hour post appointment and said my youngest will likely develop an ear infection and prescribed amoxicillin. I asked if we needed a dose for the adults to fill just in case as I’ve seen how quickly this progressed. At this point my fever hovered around the 100 mark. She completely ignored me. I came back feeling like I wasn’t heard and filled the script for my son and that was that. Next day my fever spiked so hard. It remained 103-104 all day and I was unable to get off the couch while having my two young children to care for by my side. I called the clinic around 11 and left a message saying to fill the script I asked my doctor to fill for me yesterday asap. I got a call back closer to 12 which was amazing and the receptionist let me know she’d fax it to my nearest pharmacy. I gave her the clinic’s address and fax and she said she’d call back soon to confirm when the script was in. 2 hours 45min later no call back. Fever keeps increasing. I call back- no answer so I leave a message. To this point I’ve received no call back which is ridiculously shameful. My husband got through closer to 3 and the receptionist different one said the other one just left a note to my doctor who of course wasn’t working today. I’m baffled by that fact. This was never communicated to me! If you made a mistake fine just call and apologize. We are human. But to ignore and think what you did was okay is horrendous. There needs to be better triaging or training for the reception team. I could have called elsewhere: I could’ve gotten relief from another clinic. Instead you screwed me and I’m suffering all night. Awful clinic! You’ve gone downhill since 2020 and lack complete care for your patients. This is not the first time this happened. I’m so disappointed: show some Damn compassion and do your job! I recommend if you can get another doctor at a different clinic you go there first. To sum it up: -Many receptionists lack knowledge -client care/concern from reception and doctors are slim to none -can never reach my family doctor as she works a few days a week and when we have a real but simple issue like needing a script, we are unable to receive it in a timely fashion. -Triaging absolutely sucks here -No follow up calls to see how we’re doing- our walk-in doctor does this!! So ridiculous and shameful our own doctor does not. -most scripts we have to get elsewhere since our doctor is seldom available and is terrible at returning our calls.
Doctor is great, very thorough but their reception "system" leaves a LOT to be desired. You call, leave a message then wait for them to return your call. If you miss it - repeat the cycle and sometimes you'll go days doing this phone tag game. It comes to a point where I need the info and I will lliterally call 20x a day every 30 mins and MAYBE will one of the calls actually be answered which I think is just by chance when the receptionist is picking up the line to call someone. I think it's unfair for patients to have to be glued by their phones all day in order to MAYBE receive a call back at some unknown time. You need answers? Better to stop in and ask in person than keep waiting around. Very frustrating, inefficient and creates poor quality care which is made even more frustrating bc the doctor is smart as a whip and answers all questions.
Dr Yalda Mirmesdagh is an excellent, knowledgeable, kind Dr and a good human being. She takes time to listen to our problems and explains the root cause/solution in great detail. She is prompt in her follow-ups and genuinely cares of her patients. We had great results for our family.
My family doctor is good but unfortunately I have to change because of the unorganized booking system and poor customer service with the clinic. I do not recommend this clinic as my time and health issues are not being respected.
I had only very positive experiences with the doctors here during the last half year. The appointment is always communicated in advance, walk-ins can be scheduled at short notice. I usually never wait more than 15 minutes for my scheduled appointments! The doctors are kind, practical and knowledgeable.
I left this clinic due to the disorganization and just lack of healthcare. First my family doctor was “away for 6 months until June” and I was given other doctors- its March and all of a sudden she’s back, but it’s apparently my own fault for their mistaken information…And that I was told the wrong information? So confusing. I do not feel safe with my health with this unprofessional office. I missed an appointment because I was suffering from over exhaustion by accident-ok it’s my fault. I wasn’t able to come to the phone and was supposedly charged $50 for the missed appointment, and this is a first time where I missed it.. I would gladly pay if this was a policy told to me when I became a patient, but this is something I was not aware of and I’ve had too many appointments where I felt like a neglected patient. So I’m not going to pay this. At this rate I’ve had better luck just going to Walk-ins. Going to a different clinic now, bye Felicia.
Dr. Arsalan Monavvari, is one of the best doctors I have ever been visited with. I have been his patient for 13 years. He is punctual, very attentive to details, and extremely professional. I am lucky to have him as my family doctor. Furthermore, underground parking, accommodating staff and convenient location on the TTC subway line, makes Discovery family health a perfect location for patients.
My doctor Amir Salamat is outstanding. 5/5. The management at this office is terrible. They literally never, ever pick up the phone for God knows what reason - resulting in patients always needing to leave messages and playing phone tag to get an appointment.
I absolutely love Dr K. She is amazing 5 out of 5 for sure. However the office and their call back system is horrendous, if it possible to give zero stars I would. You leave messages and then you end up in the game of phone tag ,except it will take you hours and 20+ phone calls attempts to speak with someone. There must be a better system then this. Discovery please fix this, your doctors are amazing, but the management of the office just isn't.!!!
