I wouldn’t recommend. I called in early September for routine visit. I’m a mom with a 9-5 career M-F, so I requested a morning or late afternoon appointment. After taking my social security number over the phone(!), I was told there wasn’t an availability until November or January. I decided against making an appointment and politely said goodbye. I’ve been bombarded with twice daily emails and constant phone calls. I had to contact them to stop.

My primary Dental Associates is in Fond du Lac. My temporary crown was giving me grief and not staying on. I call the Kenosha office and they realize the urgency and found a way to see me. Christy, the dental assistant, is fabulous and kind. She cleaned out the temporary crown and applied new cement. With in 20 minutes, the crown was floating around in my mouth. I called them back and again, found time to see me. Dr. Kim was then involved and decided to use a different cement that is used for another type of material. I am very pleased with the customer service and flexibility they provided as a Dental Associates location. THANK YOU! Selina Bohn Fond du Lac Patient

We were forced to by our insurance company to switch providers. My husband chose Dental Associates. My first impression was that they were a one-stop-shop conglomerate, like Super Wal-Mart. The place is huge! I prefer a locally owned, home grown vibe. But DA offers supplemental insurance for about $150 per year and for our single-income, family of five, it's a slam dunk. I had to suck it up and take one for the team. Our cleanings went well. I made everyone else go first! Dr. Jane is a 💎 gem. My kids had great experiences with the hygienists and assistants who made them feel comfortable, which was awesome because it wasn't long before we needed more care--extractions, fillings, orthodontic consults, braces, etc. My children aren't easy to work with at times due to outside issues, but everyone has been kind and compassionate during those rocky moments and waited patiently until we worked through it. I really do wish that they had at least one room with insulated walls and a door because I don't like to disturb other patients, neither does my daughter. Her crying during an anxious few moments can be loud, but DA has cubicles with storage shelves for dividers so it's VERY open. Sound carries and echoes. I don't care if HIPAA doesn't require you to provide real walls. It's a violation of my privacy if everyone in the room can bear witness to my anxiety attack before my root canal. It's just plain wrong. It's not that difficult or expensive to throw up four walls with a door--just one room--in what is essentially a warehouse. Her choice is embarrass herself and bother other people or drug herself into a stupor beforehand or suffer and refuse the procedure, which really isn't an option. Forget about anesthesia (knocking her out). Insurance won't cover it and we can't afford it. By passing the buck and saying that HIPAA doesn't require us to build walls, DA is saying that they only do the minimum amount of work to protect our privacy. Translation: We're totally allowed to treat you like a herd of cattle and until someone tells us that we have to spend $$ on an actual wall (framing, electric, plumbing, insulation, drywall), we'll continue to ignore complaints, pass the buck, and pocket the $$. I hate that we're forced to "do business" with this type of large company because we're just file numbers and insurance claims, not patients. However, my experience with the individuals working in the Kenosha location has been nothing but positive (Dr. Kim, Dr. Jane, Dr. Smart, Dr. Lim, and their hygienists and assistants who are the unsung heroes of that practice--they are its backbone. Not to mention the receptionists at the desks who are friendly and very helpful.) So, I would definitely recommend this practice to my friends and family, but I would warn them about the lack of privacy and the corporate feel of the office.
