Delta Hotels by Marriott Guelph Conference Centre

I'm writing this review about the event that we held at the Delta a week ago. I have to say that I was extremely impressed with the level of service we received from the event staff and the Bar Mason staff. I was co-hosting a surprise birthday party for my brother in law and everything went off without a hitch, with many thanks to the amazing staff. Nelia with the events team was who we worked with leading up to the event - what an awesome person! Friendly, quick to respond, very helpful! Then the day of the event, I was very impressed with the level of service from the Bar Mason employees - special shout out to Kassidy and Morgan on service and Dolores and Ariel on the manager side. Dolores even took a video of the actual surprise without anyone asking and sent it to me - above and beyond service all evening from her! Kassidy helped me set up, was incredibly friendly and attentive and ensured everything I was hoping for was delivered. Morgan ensured that no one was empty-handed and was quick to take drink orders and deliver them. Absolutely incredible service across the board. THANK YOU ALL!!!!!

While the rooms can use some updating, they are clean. Front desk staff is one of the best I’ve dealt with. If you are a frequent traveler, they actually recognize your membership status unlike some properties and they will offer you upgrades and late checkouts before you have a chance to ask. That’s how it should be! The same can be said about the restaurant staff and bartender.

Delta has been a favorite place for years. Although it appears you only have coffee and muffins like food in the morning, if you sit at a table they will offer you a full breakfast menu.nLove the new free water enhancer at the front desk. Was a refreshing new idea.nTheir dining menu had a great selection sure to please anyone's taste buds.

I had a very disappointing experience with the Delta Hotel recently. I booked a room for one night through Hotels.com, only to realize minutes later that I had accidentally selected the wrong date. I arrived at the hotel within 10 minutes of booking and immediately explained the situation. The front desk advised me to rebook for the correct date through Hotels.com, which I did.nnHotels.com was helpful and assured me I would likely receive a refund for the original reservation. Three days later, I found out the Delta refused to issue it. I’ve also tried calling the hotel multiple times with no resolution.nnThis feels incredibly unfair. I’ve hosted a private event for 30 people at Bar Mason, my wife and I visit the hotel three times a month, and every year I put up my family visiting from Ireland at this property. This isn’t the level of service I expect from a place I’ve consistently supported.

This Delta hotel is on the decline.nnFirstly upon arrival, we checked into a room that was absolutely hideous and so unsettling to be in let alone filthy that we asked to be moved to another room. Despite what was paid, we were offered a smaller room for the same price, or to have to stick it out in the first room. We settled for the smaller room which was still quite dirty.nnSecondly, the TVs in the rooms did not work. The staff could not have possibly cared less, but advised they would send someone up. After waiting 2 hours, I called again to be told they “reset the router and the maintenance person was already gone”. Needless to say, the TVs still did not work but at this point the staff became rude about the issue and showed that they clearly had no intention of fixing it.nnLastly, the AC is inconsistent or simply doesn’t work. If/when it actually does turn on it’s so loud it wakes you up throughout the night.nnThis hotel used to be a favourite of mine, but is clearly falling downhill - and fast! We used to get vouchers for items for being returning members, but are greeted with no such kindness any longer.nnIf you have another option for a hotel stay, I strongly encourage you to take that instead of staying here. We will not be returning to this hotel.nn*** Please note that this review is NOT a reflection of Bar Mason, which is a truly wonderful restaurant with amazing staff and fantastic food. ***
