This restaurant and bar has the most beautiful view of Lake Cayuga. The owners really put a lot of thought and effort into the food and drink offerings. We had a wonderful time at a food and wine pairing with a few friends and couples from work last night. 5 courses were served, each with a different glass of wine from Hosmer. The food was delicious, the venue couldn’t be beat, and the staff very professional. Thanks for a great evening!

For $33 you can get a seafood platter to find out how bad the cook is at every dish. Fish was dry and not even seasoned, shrimp was burnt, literally blackened, the cheddar ale soup tasted like beer vomit. If youre trying to spend $70 on a nice weekend out with someone, for the love of god dont come to this place. Literally anybody could cook seafood better than the cook there yesterday.

The food is excellent, the view of the lake off the porch is spectacular. The service is ok for a normally busy place. Was not please with the new billing, was.a little bit embarrassed about the selection of the tip.i payed the bill,tipped no tip, left private tip money on the table . because the bill was displayed eye level for everyone can see.will always go back, love the deerhead!thank you.

The wife and I went for a wine and food pairing. The wine was Heron Hill and the food was not off the Deerhead's usual menu. Both were excellent. (Not to say the regular menu isn't yummy also) Definitely a restaurant I would like to frequent more often.
