Days Inn Schenectady

Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Desk chair was ripped and threadbare. Clerk said there were no replacements. Clothing rack was falling off the wall. Housekeeping staff delightful but front desk staff seemed indifferent. If you just need a place to sleep that’s conveniently located and economical, it’s fine. Close to Albany and local casino. Breakfast waffles tasty !

This place is a dump! Booked reservation for a week as we were having some repair work done on our motor home, choose this place based on price. Hotel is filthy! Room was filthy and had cockroach traps under the bathroom sink! When I went down to the front desk to inform them we would be leaving, their solution was to move us to another room! REALLY! If there are roaches in one room, they are in all rooms! Unfortunately we prepaid the room and now are out the money even though the employee at the front desk wrote an explanation of what happened for us and that we should only pay for one night and receive a refund for the rest. Of course the reservation company won't budge on providing a refund! DO NOT STAY HERE - DISGUSTING!

Disgusting!! Please beware! You will not be happy or safe. Rooms are filthy. Elevator had urine on the floor so we took the stairs and found housekeepers in the stairwell smoking cigarettes (I hope it was tobacco). We had to remove the headboard from the wall and wedge it into the window to lock it . The window locks don't work. The fridge didn't work. The walls are so thin we could hear someone next door vomiting. I stay at the Days Inn for the value but this is probably the worst hotel in the chain. Really gives Wyndham a bad name. The front desk staff is friendly. Not the worst breakfast, but check the dates on the yogurt. Coffee is fresh!!

The location of the hotel is nice, but it was a pretty disappointing stay overall. Put some stuff in the fridge, turned out it was plugged into the lamp, and the lamp wasn't plugged in..... I mean, plugging it into the lamp is a bad idea anyways. The toilet was obnoxiously loud when flushing. My room was next to the elevator so kind of loud but I was woken up my some cleaning staff in the morning talking extremely loudly, which was my main issue, and for a long time too. The elevator will give you nightmares. The room itself was nice though. Checking in was easy. It's not awful but not great either.

The actual experience meets par standards, but the hotel does not care about aesthetics that go beyond your own room. The elevator is scary and it smells like smoke in the hallways.
