Americas Best Value Inn - Schenectady/Albany West

I've stayed here while attending a weekend convention every September since 2008. I have never had a bad experience; certainly not like some of the ones described by other reviewers here. That being said, perhaps my expectations are lower than most. The place is in a scary neighborhood, yes, but nothing has ever happened while I've stayed there. The room I get (though spartan) is always clean, and suits my needs perfectly. The air conditioning works very well, and I'm always comfortable. The bathroom is immaculate, and the shower has plenty of hot water. The fact that the place may or may not serve breakfast regularly is not a deal breaker. I'm just there to sleep, shower, and be close to the convention hall for the weekend. And for that, I think the America's Best Value Inn has proven a wonderful place to stay each and every year.

From the onset, nothing but HORRIBLE! Room wasn't TERRIBLE, but the service WAS! After check- in, first thing staff said to us was, and I quote, "No visitors, allowed, at all!" Not, no overnight guests, not no room parties, or no loud, obnoxious, drunk, (or whatever) guests, just-none, our ride helped us bring our luggage up, before we put the bags down, she was calling the room, to tell us no visitors! I mean my GOD...

Dss placed my sister n her 3 kids here. Place is disgusting. Owner is rude as hell. Called my ten yr old niece a fat lady. Gots bugs n water leaking everywhere. The one room they had my sister n her kids in had no cell reception whatsoever so she wouldn't have been able to call 911 in an emergency. A.c. didn't work at all. They moved her to another room n the minute u open the door u get hit with the smell of mildew. They tried to say they just shampooed the carpets but the smell never went away. My niece now has about $500 worth of asthma meds that she now needs as a result of staying here. Told dss everything n was given proof n was told their not paying for luxury. While she understands that n is not asking for that she is also not asking to b in the hospital every other day either. Worst place ever!

I put 5 Stars so this would be read. I stayed here through DSS in my time of need , and I found a used crack pipe and then a used needle, and management told me to throw them away myself. Also didn't change my sheets or give me new towels for 8 days even when I would request them . I have a son under 2 years old. Please don't stay here

The motel is very dirty, the staff is so rude when you ask them for clean towels or sheetsthey say no and give u attitude... The owner is a big jerk the worst motel ever... Would not reccomend this place at all
