We enjoy coming here for an early Breakfast bun. The coffee is fantastic too. The staff are very accommodating and friendly, food is quality and always hot. The prices are reasonable and there’s a fair choice on the menu. It’s dog friendly and although I don’t really like dogs around food, every visit, the dogs have all been very well behaved. If I had one criticism, as it was December, and quite cold, I’d fit some sort of door closing device. How people think it’s OK to leave the door open is beyond me. Its certainly won’t stop us coming again, but I think I’d prefer not to stay in the section where the entrance is.
Lovely place to eat. Very friendly staff and nice to see young people being trained up and enjoying their job. Very good location. Decor standard and food good but not spectacular. Overall a 4 star experience, but 3 star for food alone.
We had a coffee here earlier in the day when we arrived at The Shepherd's Purse for our 2 night stay. We decided to book the Greek Night for the evening. The home cooked food was delicious! Meze to share for our starter followed by Moussaka & Salmon on bed of avocado salsa. The staff were lovely, would highly recommend this hidden gem.
Mum and I had decided to spend the day in Whitby some weeks back, as it's one of our favourite places to go for the day. We'd parked up for the day and had a look around a few of the shops and as a few hours passed and it was approaching 12 o'clock, we decided to look for somewhere to have a bit of lunch. Due to my mum having a wheat and gluten intolerance, it can be difficult at times to find places that cater to such dietary requirements. A place we had tried some months back was alright, but wasn't the greatest. We'd happened to stumble upon Sander's Yard Bistro merely by chance, as it was tucked away from the bustling cobbled street. After having a look at the menu by the gate, we thought we'd give it a try. Although it was busy, one of the staff members was more than happy to find us a table and it wasn't long before we'd got one. We were seated on a fab table by the main door, overlooking the wonderfully charming courtyard. A real bonus that the weather kept ever so nice for us too! We had a lovely lady who served us and nothing seemed too much trouble, not to mention there were some great gluten-free options available. So mum ended up ordering the mature cheddar, red onion and tomato on a toasted gluten-free bun and I got the Cumberland sausage sandwich in a warm ciabatta roll and we were really impressed. It was hot, well-presented and very enjoyable, not to mention the fab raspberry milkshake! We'd have liked to try the selection of cakes they had too, but we were full after our bit of lunch. However we shall certainly be back for more without a doubt. Really pleased with the great food, great location in a quiet space and the great staff also! Many thanks to Sander's Yard Bistro! :
Spacious interior and a small but cool and comfy yard Pleasant staff Good and fresh produce for veggies and non veggies Fairly priced Quaint 1 point, the gents Loos could have done with a wee tidy up Still , we shall return for lunch tomorrow Vegetarian options: Plenty of Kid-friendliness: A nice vibe for all Wheelchair accessibility: Lots of space guys ‼
Visited here as a guest when the Bistro was closed for a wedding reception. The staff were great and very accommodating, and the wedding meal was excellent. A wild owl visits the adjacent open air yard which entertained us. As it was near Halloween and Whitby Goth weekend the bistro was fittingly decorated which added to the happy atmosphere.
Very nice coffee shop tucked away up a little alley. The food we had was very nice and tasty and the cuppa of Yorkshire decaff tea was very refreshing.Food: 5/5
We have been here numerous times for breakfast, lunch, Coffee and cake and just a quick snack. Service has always been spot on. Very friendly staff. Breakfast options are very good as is the cake selection. Great coffee. The outside courtyard is very relaxing in fine weather great place to sit with a beer, olives and some fries and just chill.
Wow what a find the food was fantastic and presented wonderfully. The young girls serving were superb their customer service skills were exceptional. Okay it was a little bit pricey but the quality outshone the price. I honestly can't wait for my next week in Whitby to visit again.Food: 5/5
