Hooksey's Fish & Chips

Stopped by and ordered the double fish haddock and chips with gravy. The place was busy, the lady that took my order Sunday was pleasant to deal with. The haddock was good, the wife enjoyed the thicker batter and they were fried to a perfect crisp, the fries were hand cut maybe double fried which was good, I enjoyed the gravy. The only thing is they don’t make their own tartar sauce which would have been great to see. We fed two adults and two little humans with the order under $30.

The food is amazing they have really good customer service especially AJ who helped me out, gave me good recommendations and was patient with me. The fish was really soft and cooked to perfection. Will definitely go back.

Awful. My boyfriend and I decided to get take out since so many people said this place was good. It’s really bad. The fish was oily, cooked with dirty oil hence the colour and had way too much baking soda or powder. IF I lived closer I would get a refund.

Hooksey’s… our favourite local breakfast/fish and chips joint. If you are not local to the area, it is easily missed but word of mouth reaches far and wide when you are a wholesomely good family spot! My family and I have been coming here for years. We love both the breakfast and the fish and chips! My most recent visit was for breakfast and my usual order is the Full of It sandwich. Other family members usually get eggs, bacon and peameal. The over easy eggs are cooked and plated perfectly. The pancakes not pictured here are fluffy and soft with no eggy flavour. While we came here for breakfast today, we also love the fish and chips. The fish portions have to be the most generous I’ve ever encountered without excessive batter. The gravy is dark and delicious and perfect accompaniment to the chips. Be sure to also try their Greek salad… one of the best greek salads I’ve had. The dressing is creamy and so flavourful along with a generous mound of fresh, soft feta. This is a family run business and owners are wonderful. We will continue to visit and have told many of our friends and family about this place.

Delicious fish and chips! Taste very good and fresh, portion are big. Highly recommended. The mushroom omelette taste good and big portion as well. We also had fish with Greek salad, the salad portion are big and taste very fresh and good.

Went here and got the haddock and chips for take out. It was fresh, cooked well, and tasted better than all the other fish and chips I've tried. The atmosphere in the restaurant is also amazing because of the really nice people, especially AJ, who cashed me out. He was also very generous with the tarter :

I came in last week for take out and I knew about this place for a while but I think they got new management and the whole place looks more modern now but still has that diner feel and the food is just less oily and tastes more fresh everything just taste better. Also a big thank you to AJ he gave me extra extra tartar sauce and was very polite and kind just like the rest of the wonderful staff there. I will be back more often the food is absolutely amazing so is the customer service.

I always love coming here. Most recently I called in my order and asked for the recommendation on halibut or haddock and was recommended the halibut... I came in the store only to find out the haddock and chips was on sale for 9.99. I wish that information was shared as it would have swayed my decision. There is no a current website that I could find to see the specials myself, however I did not look hard.

Amazing customer service! We got fish haddock and chips, onion rings and garden salad. All cooked perfectly. The coleslaw is so yummy and dill forward. The only downside was the tomatoes were very far from ripe in the garden salad.
