Great new Korean restaurant in the area. Everything is made super fresh and flavours are delicious. We ordered many items off the menu and they were all delicious. The family running the place are very down to earth and super attentive. When I told them I was leaving 5 star review they were so proud they went and told the whole staff. Highly recommend coming here and trying it out. You will be very satisfied.
Good service, super friendly staff, they asked if we wanted free refills for the apps and of course we didn’t miss out on it. I highly recommend the spicy fish roe soup! I’ve been to a lot of Korean restaurants but it’s rare to find this dish.
The menu had dishes that were unique and not usually available at Korean restaurants in Toronto. Their pork bone soup is very tasty. They had an option to add hand pulled dough which was cool. The BBQ is ok. Servers weren't attentive. We had to keep asking them for tea, napkins, bowls, etc.
Definitely a go-to spot for authentic Korean food! Prices are reasonable and their pork bone soup aka kam ja tang is amazing! It's slightly spicier than other places, which I love, and is super meaty. Friend ordered the ox tail soup and it was also very tasty! Creamy and beefy. A great alternative to PBS if you're feeling something different. Lastly, the fried chicken is delicious! Nice and saucey with a good hit of spice. Overall service was good and will definitely be back
Really wanted to like this place considering the previous restaurant here Doo Roo Ae was one of my favourite spots for Korean food until they sadly closed. Arrived around 5pm on Sunday with a friend and were quickly seated. Service was very friendly although a bit inefficient i.e. they brought a carafe of water when we asked, but didn't bring any cups with it so we had to flag them down again. Food came out relatively quickly though. Food was just so-so. Banchan was decent, nothing to write home about. Seafood pancake didn't have any seafood other than squid, and there was a ton of green onion which I didn't mind and very little batter. The pork bone soup is definitely on the spicier side - my friend and I both have a decent spice tolerance but we really struggled with the heat and could barely touch the soup. However, the pork was cooked perfectly.
Contender for one of the best traditional Korean spots in the area! Damda is a newer addition to the area, one that was attractive when looking at the clean sign and interior. Off whim decided to try this spot as opposed to going to some of the staple spots in the area. A decision that would turn out great. Damda seems to be family run, and their owner chef, Chanbu Jeong, has unprecedented experience. You’ll be greeted at the door by one of the employees and if it isn’t busy you’ll be able to grab a table quickly. The place is really clean, as expected with a new restaurant. I’ve so far been here two times and got to try a couple different things. My favourite Korean dish is Pork Bone Soup , and is usually my benchmark for a good korean restaurant. Damda’s pork bone soup is moderately priced, and the meat used is really tender and easy to get the meat off the bone. The tteokbokki is also a great starter to share, and the rice cakes used here are much better than any of the restaurants in the area. The overall quality of ingredients and dishes in general at Damda are really high, and is a pleasure to eat accompanied by great pricing. Damda has easily become my new favourite Korean restaurant in the area, and I’ll for sure be coming back again-and-again to try out their other dishes.
Food was great and servers were very friendly. Definitly will visit again.
Really tasty food! I've been here twice, first time picture below, and tried the kimchi stew and crispy sweet and sour pork... the portion of the pork was very generous . On the second visit, I had the "Sliced Rice Cake and Dumpling Soup," and it was my favorite so far! I'm definitely coming back soon to try the rest of the menuFood: 5/5
Service was great, staff was so friendly and helpful. Food was pretty good but it wasn’t amazing, they bring a lot of delicious side dishes. But still, no mouthgasms. I wouldn’t get these again but I would come back and try different dishes.
Quick cheerful service and the food was excellent, starting with the usual Korean appetizers kimchi and other preserved veggies. The booths seat 6 comfortably. Credit cards accepted.Recommended dishesBeef Bulgogi, Spicy Squid with Rice
