good place for camping. beautiful nature, you can fish, kayak, there is a swim route on the map. camping is equipped with water. not longer territory, which operates from May to November. .
It was very peaceful. Our friends have trailer there and the site is big. The people who run it make sure that all have a pleasant experience.
This little park is a gem for all ages. It sits in the small town of St Thomas with wonderful views and soft breezes. Picnic tables, large trees, a small pavilion, play-scape for small children and a clean rest room make up the park. If you want to skip stones, read a book, have a family picnic or sleep in the grass, this is the perfect park.
This park was a pleasant surprise. We stayed the weekend. The campsite was clean and nicely grass covered. Staff were friendly. Hiked the reservoir loop and really enjoyed it. Saw herons, hawks, fish, chipmunks, many other birds and mink during the hike.
Ran the trails and will continue to do so. It can get a little overgrown at times in the more remote parts of the trail. Some bridges were in need of repairs, but staff were very fast to respond when I reached out on social media and repairs were done the next day. Put on the bug spray in the summer. Bring a camera.
We will be back for sure
Stayed for Labour day weekend. - long 8o foot sites - lots of seasonals - New power with good flow - 50 psi water pressure - #146 & #147 are the perfect spots if you want to face a friend without the utiliy pole in the middle - no sewer - ratty picnic benches - hard grass surface - little bit of road noise for our site - constant park patrol - do not recommend swimming in reservoir. Water crafts yes - lots of dogs and gulf carts - propane bangers firing in nearby field. Bit annoying - $9.00 for fire wood - good dump site with new hose - gated entry - nothing really to do here so bring friends
An amazing campground with amazing staff an absolutely wonderful place to stay friendly people well-kept haven’t found a better place thanks Rob and all your stuff
Amazing campground and very accommodating staff! We arrived to the park before a very heavy rain was forecast and the staff had no issue moving some reservations around to put us on a site that would be much better suited for our camping equipment Class A motorhome so that we wouldn't sink into the ground and get stuck. Thank you, Dalewood staff!
Looking for a place to go for a hike? Or maybe you just want to lie around in nature and have a picnic? This place is worth the trip. The trail is about 6km or so and is through the woods so some rough terrain. Beautiful views of the water and woods. Lots of wildlife. Birds, especially Heron. Deer. Chipmunks. Red squirrels. Bring binoculars. Not wheelchair friendly. Not walker friendly. Wear sturdy footwear that you don't mind getting dirty. Take water. There are several benches along the hike so you can sit and take in the view. I've walked it spring, summer, and fall and never had issues with mosquitos or blackflies. Parking can be an issue however during high season. About a dozen spots or so near the bridge. You can enter near the campground and rent a kayak for an hour or more. You can easily spend an afternoon here getting some R&R or exercise, or both!
