No 5 stars for chains or fast food However, Culver's was a shelter in the SNOWstorm for some road-weary travelers! Hospitable staff. Reasonably priced and even offered a discount we didn't know about. Food was good. Place was very clean. Even an employee was INSIDE the garbage bin wiping it down. Very nice!
2023 update: I don't know what's going on lately but I'd say about the last dozen or so times we've gone they consistently get the order wrong. I order the food and the last thing I say is, and add 3 spicy chicken to go, the rest we are dining in. They bring the entire order to us as if to go. No trays to eat, just bags as if they thought the entire order was to go. The food itself is still great but service is far worse. ##### End update I drive an hour to go to this culver's. I've been doing that for almost 7 years. They are always friendly and their spicy chicken is juicy and yummy.
It must have been an off day at Culvers in Mitchell today. Granted they were busy but our order was wrong & cold sadly. Usually their burgers are soooo good but not today. The staff was friendly but they just seemed lost today. However, the best part of the visit happened as we were leaving. This young lady, as she was in the parking lot, had her dog get loose & running around the Culver's parking lot. She was having such a difficult time getting her dog back in her vehicle but with a little help, we were able to get her dog back safe in the car. This lady was having a bad day. By the way, what is happening in this photo??
I love the frozen custard. I have the daily special. The people are nice the service is great. The flavor is 6 stars it is soooo good. When I can I will try their burgers. I'm sure they are just as good and much better than any fast food like burger king or McDonald's. Because this place fixes fresh meat never frozen. Yummy.We always go through drive thru never a long wait.
It is snowing in Mitchell SD and we are staying across the road. I walked over to Culvers to get lunch. Everyone that I encounter was very pleasant and worked quickly to get my lunch. The lady cleaning the lobby Karla, was Super nice and was very accommodating. What a great place to stop and have lunch!!!
About three months stopped through drive thru...food cold- butter burger bun soggy cheese curds cold and ice in the root beer that was a 1st! Ok try again last week. Same issue...they are doing something different with the butter burgers, bun not crispy, fresh - moist like it was microwaved I would guess. Cheese curds were great, puppy got the burger. Very disappointed. Tried to call and discuss the change, but no answer and we had an hour drive. Sorry Culver's in Mitchell SD you won't get our $$$!

Had to ask for more mushrooms and sauce to complete our mushroom and Swiss burger. Asked if this is how it normally comes they said “YES” disappointing
My husband and I come eat here about once a week. In the last year, I have spent quite a lot of time in this restaurant. There are some things I have noticed time and time again. The staff are happy, they enjoy their work and they enjoy working there. The owner is incredibly active in the restaurant and is always helping people out. They are fast at getting food out to their patrons. They have people walking around the restaurant cleaning up. I believe this is the BEST fast food restaurant we have in Mitchell. The food, service, cleanliness are always great.
Great energy in the atmosphere, quick and efficient, and the food was delicious. Staff was very friendly and polite and had a positive attitude. I didn't have to wait long at all.Food: 5/5
