CS Coach House

We loved our stay at Captain Schoonmaker's Coach House! David and Craig were very hospitable and our room exceeded our expectations! The coach house is very well decorated and cozy. The serene surroundings made the balcony and outdoor areas very inviting! High Falls and Rosendale had lots of restaurants and cafes and were fun to walk around. Lastly, the coach house was in great proximity to some really great hikes and outdoor activities in the Catskills and surrounding areas. Highly recommended for an easy weekend getaway!

Captain Schoonmakers is a beautiful inn nestled in highfalls. I got the privilege of meeting Craig one of the new owners and I'm completely blown away by the personal touch they've given this place. My boyfriend and I felt comfortable and very well taken care of. The only suggestion I have is putting up a big sign and directions of where to park. We will definitely be back next year.

Stayed here this past weekend. It was hard to find because there was no sign. We were told by the new owner that it was taken down because people expected breakfast because the sign said bed and breakfast and he felt it was confusing given there was no breakfast. Hmmmm???? There are no air conditioners or even fans. Not sure why that is posted on the website. A walk around the building showed there were no ac's at all in the building. The room was not made up at all during the day. The common area (which was just for coffee) wasn't kept clean. Garbage from the day before was left there. There weren't trash cans anywhere to throw anything so in the guest rooms, bathrooms, and common area. Garbage was expected to be left out for the duration of the stay. On the up side...the room was cute (although the walls are very thin). The property is pretty with a creek outside off the porch. The owners were nice and friendly, but in hindsight it gives you the feeling of being a sucker. It would have taken very little for them to have the beds made up or to even provide garbage removal. The town and surrounding area are beautiful, so we had a good time anyhow, but the accommodations were totally misleading.

We checked out the place for an upcoming event, it looks really nice. The person we spoke to was really nice and knowledgeable and the whole place was well kept.
