Salad was delish! Always a pleasure going there because their home style food, but this time, our server was exceptional! She treated us so kindly, we received our food in a timely manner, and she made sure we were more than taken care of. Clean place, and the store is always fun to look at!

My sister used to work at a CB and I've been going for at least 20 years, so I think my opinion is informed...were given so much ice in our iced tea that when our server refilled our glass it was so watered down from the previously melted ice (due to amount & minutes until refilled). They took brown rice off the sides menu and the green beans had absolutely no flavor which is unheard of. Chicken Fried Chicken didn't have enough Sawmill Gravy. Ended up mixing green beans (w/added salt & pepper), mashed potatoes and chicken in a single bite due to deficiencies in flavor and moisture. Had to ask for honey & jam for biscuits. Left without being asked if we wanted dessert (my son wanted a sundae), and bought candy on the way out instead.

Every year, my family always visits the Field Museum in Chicago and then heads to this Cracker Barrel for a delightful supper. No matter if we are attended by a four star veteran or a rising star who was just hired, (like the two rising stars we had in 2017) service is always exceptional! We were attended to fast and got our meals faster! Definitely recommended and we will be returning yearly!

They have a small selection of food and it's all southern or country style food. Sorry when I want steak I should be able to get it not country fried, it tastes microwaved or cooked in the oven from frozen. The sides are all bland with only pepper in any of them (at least they used something). I don't think the prices they ask for is worth it. The staff is nice though and a couple things on the menu actually taste like non fast food.
