Worth a visit. The cretzel wasn’t my favorite-it just tasted like a croissant that had been rolled into a pretzel shape, making it a little more dry and crisp. The croissant was too dense on the inside, whereas it should be light and fluffy. The chocolate croissant had a better texture. The scone on the other hand was perfect, a nice smooth texture and not as dense and dry as other scones.
One of my favorite bakeries in Seattle! Update: Aug 2022- After a long 2.5 years, their dining room is open. The people who work here are always kind and helpful. The Victoria sponge cake was delicious. I love their jams too.
Nice and popular bakery in Greenwood with a decent offering of baked goods and coffee. I had their butter croissant, and I loved it despite the smaller than normal size. It has a very flaky crust and beautiful layers, one of the best ones I had in Seattle. I also tried the croissant dough pretzel and mini kouign amann, both have a stronger salty flavor and I love that. Prices are fair and service was friendly. There are a few benches and small tables outside, they look very lovely in the morning sunshine! Update: I ran past this neighborhood one morning and all of a sudden I smelt a rich buttery aroma and I looked up, I was right next to Coyle's before they are open!
Enjoyed a flakey, fresh baked savory croissant. Coffee is delicious with great foam. Prompt service. Got busier around 8am, but the line moves pretty fast. Street Parking available. Accessibility: Sidewalk Level Entry, tables available for wheelchair users. Single occupant bathroom, decent amount of room inside. the isle to it might be a little narrow for some mobility equipment. Stopped in before an appointment, good amount of seating inside. 2 & 4 person booths, also tables & chairs; also seating in front of the store. Fun shops close by to pop into as well. About a 5 minutes walk from the bus stop for route #45 U District/Ballard. Close to the branch of the Seattle Public Library & a neighborhood park.
Their scones are what all other scones aspire to be when they come out of the oven. I usually like the idea of scones more than I like scones but the currant cream scone was the best ever. A cross between the best cookie and the moistest cake.
Delicious pastries and cookies. Had their chocolate layered cake and hot chocolate which was just ok, won’t order them again. Their hot cross buns were delish!Dine in: NoOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: YesDelivery: NoCurbside pickup: No
I tried a number of coffee shops in Greenwood before leaving a review for Coyle's to make sure I was doing my due diligence. Coyle's has the best espresso and baristas in the neighborhood. Their foaming technique is phenomenal! They froth the milk to perfection. The espresso they use is fantastic. And of course the baked goods--delicious! Highly recommend
Great scones but customer service not so much. I walked in this morning to grab a quick scone after a nice walk with my dog, a mini goldendoodle. I walked in and I got in line. I had been there about 60 seconds before someone approached me and asked me if my dog was a service dog and I said no and they told me that I had to leave. I said that I was just there to grab a scone and leave. I probably would’ve been outside already if there wasn’t a line because I knew what I wanted. She said that she was sorry and I had to go right then. There was no offer of resolution - like she could’ve taken my card and brought it to me outside and/or told me that they were very serious about it and it wouldn’t be able to happen again but instead, I was just told to leave. This is the first time that I’ve ever been asked to leave for being in line for a takeout item anywhere. I am a single dog mom of a very anxious dog since Covid and it rubbed me the wrong way how it was handled. Also, not that it was mentioned by the staff but a heads up for others- tying up a dog outside on Greenwood isn't a great option as it's a busy street.
Simply amazing. There was something for every palate and every pastry I had was divine. Wow. Don't sleep on this place if you're looking for a croissant or any other French pastry.Food: 5/5
Really good baked goods, coffee and fast service. We ordered a whole bunch of stuff- chocolate croissant very good; my fav, ham and cheese croissant delicious; my husband’s fav, olive oil cake sooo good; my 19 month old daughter’s fav & pistachio cake also delicious.
