I'll be frank: I'm not vegan. I was vegetarian for ten years for ethical and environmental reasons, but I won't deny I enjoy nonvegan food. I'm very interested living more conscientiously however, and Coven provides the perfect jumping off point for that. Accessible and friendly staff, quick service at the deli counter, delicious treats, and aisles of all the creative meat substitutes and grocery items you couldn't even dream existed. Vegan salmon sashimi they swear tastes just like the real thing. Vegan eggs and mayo that honestly taste even better. I tried the ham Sandy at the recommendation of one of the staff and it was INCREDIBLE. Picked up that, a macaroni salad, and a cookie all for the same price as any of the other hip grocery/deli/lunch places. Delicious, affordable, and it feels good for the environment?! Double win. Will definitely come back!
We came here for the first time in February 2022. We were very surprised at an entire Vegan grocer and jumped at the opportunity to visit it. When you hear about all the products they have, you'd expect this place to be much much bigger inside, but they pack it very nice. There are so many different vegan cheeses, boxed vegan foods, frozen vegan foods and delicious treats. We grabbed one of the Apiecalypse Pizza's, some Dill pierogi's, dandy marshmallows, tzatziki and a few other delicious finds. The prices are decent, the inventory was great and the service was friendly. Any vegan passing by here needs to stop in. 5/5.
Amazing vegan grocery store - they have everything! And an on-site bakery! The staff are super knowledgeable and friendly, and the product range is excellent. Tons of sauces, baking supplies, vegan cheeses and frozen foods. This store offers both in-house products vegan cheeses etc. as well as many brands myokos, violife, etc.. Prices are reasonable for vegan specialty products - just take my money! I’ll be here way too often.
I had my first trip to Coven after my husband telling me great things about the store. I was so excited to experience my first all plant-based specialty store. I never imagined finding a store like this since going vegan over a decade ago. Not only are the staff very friendly and helpful, but the products are so unique. My husband loves to buy the plant-based meat alternatives and I bought vegan white chocolate, peanut butter cup ice cream, vegan tuna and chocolate hazelnut spread. It was such a special treat to be able to enjoy childhood foods that I couldn't find in a vegan version until now thanks to Coven! I am proud to support stores like Coven who sell delicious plant-based food and make a bunch of food fresh in store. Thank you Coven for your impact on the community and providing so many alternatives for people to enjoy instead of animal products.
Staff is always friendly, greeting you with a smile and cheery hello every time. Endless amounts of tasty vegan food, including Toronto goodies like Apiecolypse pizza and Honey's ice cream. On site deli/grill for something to eat on the go, or bring home. The Challah buns... incredible. Oh, and the fact that the owner's pay a fair, living wage to their staff.....
THE. BEST. CINNAMON. BUNS. EVER. Ok so vegan or not vegan, the deli and bakery portion is delicious. They have made some spectacular dishes vegan. I can't rave enough about the cinnamon buns in particular. The shelved items can be a little expensive for what people are used to but as a vegan it's amazing to have so much variety without having to read labels. The staff is also really lovely. It's a nice atmosphere to shop in.
They've got a wonderful selection of vegan products including the softest buns money can buy. Slowly getting hooked to this place
Coven is a fitting name for the magic this grocer brings to Hamilton! They are your one-stop shop for all things alternative and tasty. I find it very helpful that they label all their shelves so you know exactly what each item is or simulating. The staff are very helpful and quick to answer any question you have. Worth checking out!
12/5 stars, the staff are always friendly and know there products. This is THE ideal grocery store for Vegan and Vegetarian folks that want to feel at home and not question what items have meat, dairy or some other weird animal byproduct. They are always bringing in new items that never disappoint!
Fresh made plant Meats. Selection of vegan cheeses. Many Specialty Products including vegan junk food. Go Max Go chocolate bars. Ready to eat lunches . Very helpful staff. A good place to find what you're looking for, all things vegan.
