Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Madison, WI

Read my other reviews. I frequent Country Inn's and other Club Carlson properties. Bottom line: this location is price gouging. I went to book a room at this property because Radisson was full. They wanted $250 for a Friday night. Marriott's and Hilton's are going for $140-$150. No way would I spend $250 on any Country Inn, much less this one. Someone needs to teach this Country Inn's management the value equation. Between this location and Rapid City, I'm tempted to bring my loyalty to another hotel chain. Country Inn is nothing great, but I frequent their properties because they are usually a good rate.

Night worker at front desk was about as rude as could be. Went to talk about the lack of parking and she completely blew me off and then just ignored me. The lot was full because there were two trucks with trailers that literally took up 10 spots. The lot appears to be undersized to begin with. Perhaps have people towing trailers park elsewhere. So instead of having two people park in a different company's unlit lot, you now have 10 people park in another company's unlit lot. That makes perfect sense.

There is a little pond behind the hotel with a walking area. On the back side there is a place to rent things to go on the pond. Wish we would have known about it sooner. Cleanliness was ok.

Good location, everything we wanted to do was easy to get to. Nice hotel with a nice, friendly staff. Beds were kind of uncomfortable for me, pillows were terrible.

This hotel provides accommodations for the extended business stay traveler's .. The Run Down: The facilites see a lot of travelers and although it has been renovated the last 3-5yrs the building shows signs of wear.. but it doesn't overcast the fact that it is clean and they are ontop of the upkeep.. 5⭐ The rooms are very clean and thoroughly stocked! Micro..fridge.. coffee pot.. ample supply of bathroom towels and toiletries.. there's plenty of lighting and space to move around (even in a dbl qn room) beds and linens are modern comfy and have tons of pillows and extra blankets! One drawback was the mini fridge.. it had a tendancy to wanna freeze everything..and although it was annoying at first I got past that issue to admit that it was better it ran cold than not at all.. 4⭐ The common areas are kept well.. there is a heated pool..jacuzzi and simple exercise room stocked with extra towels so there's no worry on having to bring your own from the room..4⭐ The continental breakfast provided is a FULL scale deal.. you can make waffles..have a choice with eggs potatoes and a sausage/bacon selection as well as french toast (available on alternating days.. mind you they serve it 7 days of the week) cold cereals yogurt ..toast breads/english muffins as well as all the coffee ..milks and juice variations.. like i said FULL accommodations here.. 5⭐ Overall the staff keeps the facility.. it's grounds .. common and breakfast areas continually stocked and cleaned and maintained! I give this review having came in on a Saturday and seen the guest load the weekend of my arrival . .. they DIDN'T miss a beat!! Thank you!
