Please note that I am not rating this business - this mechanic has closed. I am posting to let Bruce know that his shop is still listed online as "Open" for business. It needs to be indicated online as closed down as well.
Probably the rudest old man I've ever dealt with. Had him look under my hood to see if he had any idea why my car was overheating. Was extremely rude and berated me the whole time. When I leaned over to look under the hood too, at least a foot or more away from him, he says "girl do you understand the law of physics?" Complaining I had almost smacked our heads together which I hadn't. Clearly someone needs to retire. Avoid unless you feel like dealing with straight up rudeness and a grimey old shop.
Bruce is awesome. Our truck had a water pump failure going up to mount Washington and overheated. He was open on a Sunday, called us back to make sure we had the tow truck figured out, and worked all day trying to get us back on the road again. Very honest and friendly, if my vehicle brakes down within 30 min drive of his shop I will absolutely go back. Thanks Bruce!
Bruce is a damn fine human being. He diagnosed a coolant issue for us at no charge, and when we came back with complications from our own fix job, he made quick work to correct our DIY imperfections a transmission fluid leak. Undercharged us for his time and wouldn't accept more even when we insisted. Thanks, Coulter Automotive.
Bruce is a wonderful person who is honest. I 1000% reccomend his services.
Absolutely phenomenal, friendly, honest service. Definitely earned a repeat customer! Highly recommend!! 10/10!! Edit: I can't recommend enough, seriously do yourself a favour and go see this legend!Service: General repairs & maintenance
Bruce is a highly skilled good mechanic and diagnostician. He is honest and fair. Wish we had more technicians like him. Thanks Bruce!
Thought I had already reviewed here, but here we go. This guy is honest as the day is long. He'll check out what you might need, and might not even charge you a dime. You will get nothing better in Courtenay, or anywhere, I would say. Wish I lived closer so he could always work on my vehicle. But please, don't be a prima donna expect the world for nothing!
We took our 2002 VW Cabriolet that we had purchased 2 days earlier to Coulter Automotive June 2 2017 for a clutch, was quoted 300$we supply parts paid 200$ upfront, to date car is still not finished and remains torn apart in his shop for over 3 month now, he refuses to work on it..The car is a convertible and now summer is over. We are looking at our legal options after long weekend. If you like drama this is your mechanic! BEWARE!!!!
