First time to hike here. It was a great workout or exercise with great views. There are steps or slope that people can choose how to walk up to the hill. It’s not too difficult like grouse grind for sure much easier. It would be even better if it’s sunny or in spring or summer. People who live in the neighbourhood can get free workout here. Highly recommended.
Great inclined workout free of charge with a beautiful view as you descend up the stairs. The stairs portion is around 450+ steps but there is more incline as you go up. Paved and lots of signage and marked cross walks. Only complaint going up from the park at the bottom to the top requires crossing multiple sidewalks with cars constantly streaming past.
Amazing place to get a quick hike in! Would recommend during a sunny day and non rainy. Path is paved for the 2.8km and gravel for the rest of the 0.2km. Would recommend proper running shoes for this activity!
The city of Coquitlam did an awsome job with this trail. The east Trail has just stairs for going up, the The west trail has stairs for going down but also a path right beside the stairs. There are washrooms half way up and I believe around 450 stairs to the top, the trail continues after the stairs end, best view about half way up, takes about half hour from bottom parking lot to the very top. Awsome hike
If you're looking for an easy, beginner-friendly hiking trail in the Coquitlam area, the Coquitlam Crunch Trail is a great option. The 2 km trail is a mix of stairs, dirt, and gravel, but the views are worth it. Just be prepared for a bit of a workout!
This is my all time favorite work out trail. If I want to hike for the sole purpose of getting a work out in, it's perfect! It starts off with a little over 400 stairs, then the rest of the hike is an inclined trail. At the top you can choose to keep hiking to your right side and there's additional trail with a small creek. Once you end up on a residential cul-de-sac, you've reached the end. It's such a staple when living in the tri cities because if you don't drive, it takes way longer to go to grouse mountain for their grouse grind.
Nice and quick workout. The trail are steps are well maintained and can be easily done with kids.
Great near by destination to get out and work up a sweat. The newly installed second set of stairs allows for directional up/down separation which is perfect for social distancing. Just do the stairs a few times or do the entire 6km round trip hike from the parking lot on Runnel to the top at Eagle Mountain Dr.
Amazing place. Well kept and they were developing more areas for parking. There is a little community garden with veggies like carrots and tomatoes. Also found a little library with books you can give or take for people which was very nice! Did this yesterday and could only do 300 of 890 steps up since I was tired from walking around the city of Coquitlam earlier in the day. Will be back next week to try again :
Great first time experience. Like that it has indicators to let you know stair count and when you are half way and almost finished. Down path stairs could be wider though. Me and my gf had to keep single filing down as others passed us because the steps weren't as wide as the incline side.
